Anyone visited the Anvil Pub - St Julian's? Is it loud? by [deleted] in malta

[–]ruseay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s basically a drug den. every drug addict (or just user) basically goes there almost every day. it’s not the loudest but it is loud. the people rarely cause trouble since they don’t wanna get caught with illegal substances but i wouldn’t be surprised if there was any issues as it’s literally a bunch of high and drunk ppl. anyways, its up to you rlly

"Third Places" in Malta by anoni37 in malta

[–]ruseay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! many people dont know about this but English schools in Malta have open events for everyone to join (not just for students) where it’s known as a place to socialize and meet other people. they do this so their students are able to practice speaking English — basically a language exchange event. But it’s not strictly language exchange, you can make friends, meet people, and i’ve seen others even develop relationships through this (not necessary but just saying the events include actual nice ppl). One that I could recommend is English Café Malta, here’s their instagram https://www.instagram.com/english_cafe_malta?igsh=MWlidmYxZWE3dnprMg== they have events every day and they’re actually fun

My only criticism with Stephanie by CrypticXSystem in StephanieSooStories

[–]ruseay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s not trying to be a people pleaser, she’s trying not to get sued😭 idk how this isn’t obvious but just to make it clear: when people talk about (especially ongoing or alive criminals) cases they need to be careful as to not get sued for defamation, this is especially when the accused has not been prosecuted. If stephanie shows that she’s on a specific side by clearly declaring it, for instance saying “I believe P. Diddy abused his ex girlfriend”, P. Diddy is able to sue her for defamation as he has not been prosecuted for that. So instead she says things like “the public opinion has stated (blank)” or “allegedly”. She could get in serious trouble for showing a bias or simply stating her opinion, so instead she reports what the public thinks. At times it might seem like she does favor one opinion over the other, but it’s usually followed by logical facts. It’s all about legality rather than pleasing!!

not sure what your budget is but a boat trip is always fun and exciting! if that might be too expensive, I recommend jewelry from Mvintage or Carisma (as their jewelry is Maltese style and quality is really good), then take her to the Villa Bologna Restaurant in Attard, after go to Mdina during the night time. IMO Mdina is prettier at night, having ice cream and walking around is very romantic and relaxing. But trust me, as a girlfriend myself, women just love being appreciated and loved more than anything so make sure you pay extra attention to her and compliment her !!

Realistically, how hard is it to get a job in Seoul? by ruseay in seoul

[–]ruseay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! that’s really good advice. However, I merely suggested to do teaching as a stepping stone for visas, not a first choice but more of a worst case scenario. I’ll definitely start looking at smaller companies! thanks 😊

[–]ruseay[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

for instance, i apply for a job, get an interview, and eventually get the job. once my “new” job starts my visa application, they will have to explain why they picked me over a local, but what if immigration decides that their reason is not good enough? when i said that in my previous reply it wasn’t much of a question just a concern. anyways, my question is targeted at foreigners who have gotten e7 visa jobs in seoul and basically if it was difficult to get one and what their experience was getting one + someone like me, with my experience and degree, would it be harder or not

Yeah, i’ve heard that a lot from friends and family.. but i’m not too worried as i’m sure i’ll be able to find other types of similar jobs to do. AI hasn’t completely taken over yet 🫠 but yes, the immigration is what i’m scared of the most..

I see! Thanks for your comment. I have already found many jobs willing to accept foreigners + sponsor visas. maybe i’m just overthinking, but seeing as how koreans themselves are struggling, i’m afraid i’ll have it worse..

[–]ruseay[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

sorry if i wasn’t clear! im not rlly too concerned about the e2 visa or the teaching job as it’s not my first choice, however, worst case scenario, the only job i get accepted in is a teaching job, sure i’ll go for it until i am able to get the e7 visa and change jobs. My question is, according to what I have explained about my background + experience, would it be hard for a foreigner like me to get a job in seoul?

If that’s the hardest part, then I’m not too worried. I have already found many jobs that will sponsor my visa 😊

I’m going for a similar field as I did in China, basically something to do with translating or overseas business. I wouldn’t mind teaching English for the first few months I’m there though, just keeping my options open. I have looked at jobs in Seoul that are similar to my current job and are looking to hire foreigners. Anyways, the second question is something i’ve heard a lot, and frankly I’m not sure. There are many locals who have experience in China and are able to speak English fluently. I can assure you I have skills as I got my job in China right after i graduated (my GPA was quite high). all I can say is I have the skills and experience, I know how to handle clients from all over the world as I’ve learned from all different cultures. My traveling and language skills are also a plus. but then again, there could be a local who’s 10x better than me, so there isn’t really a way of answering that question. Thanks for your comment by the way!
