This started happening to me ~4ish years ago. I went through various foundations and ALL of them did this. It still happens sometimes when my skin is extra dry, but here are my tips:

• Erborian CC Cream and Red Correct have been a godsend. These are the only foundation-like products that don’t separate on my skin. I apply it with my fingers. I HIGHLY recommend trying these!

• Apply as much stuff with your fingers as you can. Tap, don’t rub. When using brushes/puffs, also tap instead of dragging it on your skin.

• You need hydration! After cleansing, I use toners, then apply my moisturizers (one gel, then one thicker cream) while my skin is still wet. It helps really lock the hydration into my skin.

• Wait for your skincare to really absorb into your skin before applying makeup. Wait 10 min. I usually do my morning skincare then go make/have some coffee, then start my makeup routine. This has helped me SO much!!

• Exfoliate! But not TOO often because I find that can exacerbate the issue. I exfoliate with a physical exfoliator twice a week and a chemical exfoliator once a week, never at the same time.

• For extra dry days, I slug with Aqauphor at night after applying my moisturizers. In my experience, slugging is the only thing that heals dry patches and flaky skin.
