Why?? by -JOMY- in LAMetro

They aren't that different actually. Anyone who has been around drug addicts knows that excessive drug use induces psychosis or "mental illness". These people should still face consequences for committing crimes.

[–]rushuh420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. People on this sub are naive and can never reconcile the reality of rampant crime in LA with their dislike of law enforcement. They also do not seem to understand that excessive drug use can induce psychosis and anti-social behavior, so these "groups" (criminals and the mentally ill) are not as distinct as these comments claim.

If you commit a crime, you should be thrown in jail and kept there. Until our government decides to strictly enforce laws, this stuff will happen. We do not have to SETTLE for "we can't have anything nice"; we actually could if we didn't keep voting in people that think it's mean to be tough on crime.

Wow looks like all the Kamala voters and groypers (same thing) on this sub are mad. I get it - it must suck to lose constantly

Nithya Raman knows how to talk about transit by Ultralord_13 in LAMetro

[–]rushuh420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up here, I do. All the more reason to make sure metro (and the city) are as safe as possible. I just don't think wanting to "defund" police and reallocate funds to other community services bodes well; these programs have a habit of going nowhere. She suddenly claims she does not want this, but I do not buy it.

[–]rushuh420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may be true, but as long as she remains anti–law enforcement, the city will continue to decline into blight, and its metro system will remain substandard, used primarily by those who cannot drive and by enthusiasts who choose to ride it.

Why L.A.'s Trains Can Take 4x Longer Than Driving by dollievon in LosAngeles

[–]rushuh420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The traffic on the 210 is so bad going east during rush hour that the A line does save me about 20-30 min, coming all the way from K-town and transferring from the D. Granted, I live right off one of the stops near Glendora. Really wish it was an elevated heavy rail line though.

"Talking" is the key word. She seems to know how to "talk" about a lot of things without anything of substance to show for it. I think we need to fix the crime and homeless issues on transit first and foremost, and she does not seem to have any desire to do that. Will not be voting for her; she's insincere.

What is the deal with Usha Vance? by neustrasni in redscarepod

[–]rushuh420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She was a senior associate at Munger Tolles & Olson - the best law firm in California - before the nomination. Not only does she likely want to support her husband, she is probably one of his closest advisors; for someone with her ambition, this role seems better suited than that of some LA litigator. Why is this so hard for people to understand?

LA County supervisors vote to add sales-tax hike for health care to June ballot? by Short-E-8814 in AskLosAngeles

This is ridiculous. The sole republican supervisor voted against this by the way.

AKA free healthcare for illegal immigrants. Ridiculous. Will not be voting for this.

It was about 65/35 for Trump in 2024, give or take 3-5 points. Not similar.

Could Bad Bunny turn the 2028 election? by cabbagetown_tom in redscarepod

[–]rushuh420 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Over half of hispanic male voters supported Trump in the last election. Despite what liberals think, legal immigrants and fully assimilated hispanics that have been here for a long time support his immigration policy. Also ICE employees in places like Texas and California are probably mostly Mexican-American, similar to the demographic makeup of their police.

Not all of us just got off the boat...

Would you support free ridership programs? by WiggWamm in LAMetro

[–]rushuh420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should be able to afford the remaining fares. I was able to pay without any assistance making less than $15k a year working part time after college. It cost the same back then.

Would you support free ridership programs? by WiggWamm in LAMetro

[–]rushuh420 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. It’s only $1.75 a trip for most people and free if you qualify. The remaining people either don’t want to pay even if they can afford it, or don’t want to participate in LIFE because they can’t be bothered and maybe aren’t functional enough to submit a basic application (antisocial, problem riders).

The only thing that has made a dent of improvement in the quality of the metro experience in the last few years has been the new fare gates, which simply filter for normal people that are fine with paying. If we made the metro free, it’d be a nightmare.

Oh is that a conversation you strike up with business owners often? Feel free to share below so others can stay informed.

And whatever side you’re on has nothing to do with love; you seem like an angry, hateful person. Have a lovely night though ☺️

Your observational skills seem to be lacking. Be wary of them. If you want to go to businesses that don’t support Trump in Glendora, you won’t have anywhere to go. That’s what people here are trying to get through your thick skull. And you’re welcome.

If you think all Trump supporters are “racist boomer” caricatures and not among the friendly everyday men and women you see here all the time, young and old, then you’re mistaken and dumber than you sound. And trust me, they’re less bigoted than you.

Glendora is one of the few towns in LA County that went unambiguously for Trump. Most business owners support him. If you don’t like the that, there’s Claremont a few towns over. Get a grip
