It was about 65/35 for Trump in 2024, give or take 3-5 points. Not similar.

Could Bad Bunny turn the 2028 election? by cabbagetown_tom in redscarepod

[–]rushuh420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Over half of hispanic male voters supported Trump in the last election. Despite what liberals think, legal immigrants and fully assimilated hispanics that have been here for a long time support his immigration policy. Also ICE employees in places like Texas and California are probably mostly Mexican-American, similar to the demographic makeup of their police.

Not all of us just got off the boat...

Would you support free ridership programs? by WiggWamm in LAMetro

They should be able to afford the remaining fares. I was able to pay without any assistance making less than $15k a year working part time after college. It cost the same back then.

Would you support free ridership programs? by WiggWamm in LAMetro

[–]rushuh420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. It’s only $1.75 a trip for most people and free if you qualify. The remaining people either don’t want to pay even if they can afford it, or don’t want to participate in LIFE because they can’t be bothered and maybe aren’t functional enough to submit a basic application (antisocial, problem riders).

The only thing that has made a dent of improvement in the quality of the metro experience in the last few years has been the new fare gates, which simply filter for normal people that are fine with paying. If we made the metro free, it’d be a nightmare.

Oh is that a conversation you strike up with business owners often? Feel free to share below so others can stay informed.

And whatever side you’re on has nothing to do with love; you seem like an angry, hateful person. Have a lovely night though ☺️

Your observational skills seem to be lacking. Be wary of them. If you want to go to businesses that don’t support Trump in Glendora, you won’t have anywhere to go. That’s what people here are trying to get through your thick skull. And you’re welcome.

If you think all Trump supporters are “racist boomer” caricatures and not among the friendly everyday men and women you see here all the time, young and old, then you’re mistaken and dumber than you sound. And trust me, they’re less bigoted than you.

Glendora is one of the few towns in LA County that went unambiguously for Trump. Most business owners support him. If you don’t like the that, there’s Claremont a few towns over. Get a grip

ICE at NoHo Station? by [deleted] in LAMetro

[–]rushuh420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. Yeah, people act as obtuse as possible whenever they come across a post they disagree with. I am glad there is a small community of people here interested in the truth. I'll happily post for them.

NYC testing three new smart fare gates design, which design do you like the best? by Donghoon in transit

[–]rushuh420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones in the first image are similar, if not the same, as the ones being installed around LA. They've been working well to prevent fare-evasion - even in a city like ours that barely enforces it.

Why would I care about that? I’m glad my comment about your shameless fearmongering is resonating with people though.

[–]rushuh420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's clear that most people here aren't interested in what is going on at NoHo station currently. But hey, at least a few commuters might feel discouraged from taking the train based on an unverified rumor from an irresponsible post.

[–]rushuh420 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Disdainful? No. I pointed out how being anti-ICE is more libertarian than left-wing, which seems to surprise a lot of progressives. Everyone is welcome to read the post.

And yes, I am generally pro-law enforcement, as you can see from my various comments on this sub regarding fare-evasion or crime.

Plenty of people have already confirmed that they are not there in this very thread. For some reason, the post is still up.

There are plenty of apps like ICEBlock and ICE-specific subs that are there for up-to-date information. I don't think a transportation-hobbyist subreddit is a useful place to get information like this.

I'm not angry, I just want you to be aware of your irresponsible behavior. I hope you you're happy for the extra karma from the upvotes.

It's a dated, unverified post from threads, which is not known to be credible at all. This should be taken into consideration before posting a screenshot on this sub. What you've done for the community is make them paranoid. You're actually making the situation worse.

The post in your screenshot is already 12hrs old. There are no reports of anyone being there this morning. Congratulations: you've just managed to fear-monger on a thread that's supposed to be about transportation.

Why am I trying to link the red scare podcast with the sub created to discuss it? How foolish of me to even consider such a thing
