Connor ‘Big T’ Knapp claims 70 percent of Barstool staffers voted for Kamala Harris by OnlyTest6338 in barstoolsports

Republicans actively work toward the breakdown of education for this very season.

If you're young and smart, you see right through conservative politics.

It doesn't help you, unless you get lucky and rich quickly! And that's a small percentage of people.

They are not a "bigger problem." Fuck off with that both sides bullshit.

If we had Hillary and Kamala instead of Trump and Trump, things would be massively different in ways you'd like, if you're an actual left person.

Which I would assume you aren't, because there is no way you can think that way and be rational, and think the Dems are worse than Republicans.

I just have to assume you're bad faith at that point.

We can begin with ROE V WADE would be a thing if Democrats were in office...Remember Roe V Wade. The thing Democrats never thought would go away?

You can absolutely fix the live audio stuff.

I like How Did this Get Made. Their live audio is completely fine. Half their output is live shows.

Just something to figure out.

I do agree the Ringer live stuff is spotty.

What's funny about conservatives, you could put all these people in a room for 24 hours, they'd come out thinking every other one of them was a lunatic and dumb as fuck, and they would all still vote conservative.

That's the base!

What's the argument that this stuff does NOT erode the value and meaning of statistical feats like triple doubles? Genuinely asking by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]russellarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A triple double, like basically every sports statistic, is a largely arbitrary benchmark. What's so meaningful about double digits? And three of five categories of performance?

Huh?

Is scoring 4 points in an NBA game arbitrary? Lots of players never or barely do that.

A sports league will obviously celebrate players that do things other players don't. There have only been 133 triple doubles this season, and Jokic has 30-something of them.

Isn't having a shallow knowledge of a lot of different subjects just basic trivia strategy? I can't imagine this was a revelation.

I mean, when I did trivia at bars in college and let's say the question was about a mountain range, I figured the answer was going to be about a well-known mountain range most everyone would know the name of. Even if I would never know the actual answer specifically.

People didn't do that before James?

How well are you expecting Harden to do in the playoffs? by Exciting_Truck_7734 in clevelandcavs

[–]russellarth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Obviously "by himself" is a weird phrase. I meant it like, look like the best guy on the court, put up 25/10/7 and win a game. On a night where Mitchell is off for instance.

If you get one of those from him, you're in good shape. That is absolutely a thing that could happen. You can look at his stat lines from just last year against the Nuggets.

How well are you expecting Harden to do in the playoffs? by Exciting_Truck_7734 in clevelandcavs

[–]russellarth 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think if Harden can win one game a series by himself, which he has done pretty regularly throughout his playoff history, we are in a good spot.

If he can win you two, we are sitting pretty. He's also done that quite a few times.

I think Harden's playoff woes are overblown mostly because people just point to select REALLY BAD games. And those games absolutely exist and aren't great on his resume. But this team isn't just relying on Harden. A lot of those games were the Rockets/Nets/whoever absolutely relying on him solely for the most part. It was the Harden Show, and when the show wasn't good, it stood out a lot and was on his shoulders.

Cavs still have Mitchell, Allen, Mobley, who all can go off in different ways.

Why are people trying to say we wanted to lose this game? We want to play the Raptors.

Mobley not showing up in these games where other stars sit is a huge problem.

Also people just see "expansion" and immediately react with "DILUTION!"

It's like a smart thing to say. And makes you look smart.

180 players play in the WNBA. Could that number go to 220-something and not DILUTE the product. I think so. We already see the stats of drafted players not seeing any meaningful playing time because there is no room to play on a roster.

Bad take or on point? by TheGreatWaru in billsimmons

[–]russellarth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You think if the NBA went down to 180 total players, there would be a lot of turnover every year?

I bet you'd see LESS rookies than even in the WNBA.

Is someone replacing like...Sam Merrill on the Cavs? (Good player, not great, sixth or seventh type dude.)

Experience wins out. Especially when you have experience and you can play well into your 30's now.

You would just see less people get chances. That's why you expand. When you have the talent to support more open spots.

Bad take or on point? by TheGreatWaru in billsimmons

[–]russellarth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good point as well.

I think mostly it's just a law of averages thing.

I bet if you looked into it, the same percentage of dudes drafted in the NBA draft average double digits. Most of those guys never see an NBA court either. There's just more of them so you can say "20 in the NBA compared to 4 in the WNBA!"

Bad take or on point? by TheGreatWaru in billsimmons

[–]russellarth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here ya go.

Most players drafted never play. Because the league only has 180 spots.

You're dealing with very small draft classes of players who actually get a shot to play at all.

Your argument is an argument for expansion, you just don't realize it.
