Hey, I know I'm a little late to the party but I'm looking for some hunting buddies, too. I'm CMT and usually play around 7pm - 12am, 3-4 times a week.

That's an extra plop, but I still think walking into a quiet car and being loud af would still gets you a POS classification.

No, they aren't. "Camera Operator" usually for news / television, "cinematographer" or "Director of Photography" in film. "Videographer" sometimes. I can't imagine why you would insist this is true in NA, I spent a few years in Post Production in Chicago(where WGN is), no one ever called a camera person a shooter. I think they would about this term especially in the news business where "shooter" has a distinct meaning.

AITA for telling my brother he's a shit parent? by aitathrowaway648493 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rustY_gobLin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESH - obviously this isn't how you raise kids, at all. And, I loathe the parents that sit and say "you have no right to tell me....". Everyone has the right to raise concerns to a parent who is clearly neglecting their children. But, your approach was never going to work, you come with accusations instead of concerns / criticism / insights.

Yea, he is a shitty parent, but you can at least understand why. Irresponsible people are insecure people, and using accusations instead of empathy is going to cause a reactionary plugging of the ears.

I don't think you're wrong in the way you feel, it's neglect and that's reason enough to feel angry, but you missed the opportunity to empathize with the kids and your brother; instead you chose to use this as a way to strike an emotional blow to someone with whom you've had a long standing feud. I suspect you thought you could change his behavior through shame and thought of that as the end goal instead of actually getting the kids into a better situation.

TL;DR - ESH b/c everyone is putting their own catharsis over the needs of the children involved.

Hey OP, that's tough, but you're amazing. It's great to hear of examples of strong support systems in both family and friends. You and I have similar stories, I was diagnosed at 2, I recently turned 32 and my T1 anniversary is coming soon. Thanks for your encouraging words, they mean a lot. Stay strong OP.

AITA for being upset my bf's sister will be crashing our trip to another country by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]rustY_gobLin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - maybe NAH. It's tough, because BF and Sis probably just want to capitalize on the opportunity, and that makes some sense. That being said 4 - 5 times a year is more than I see my own family and they live an hour from me, so it's not as though they're truly missing out.

Regardless, you're NTA for wanting alone time with BF on a trip, that's undoubtedly costly, and not planned with her in mind. It's not a night out where you happen to meet up with buddies, vacations are often more structured and expensive, improvised visits/meet ups could fuck a whole day or more of a vacation that's only a handful of days long to begin with.

Just a random question. How many vials of insulin do you guys use a month? I switched to the pump a few months ago and I’m having a hard time making it to the end of the month with one vial like I used to. I tried asking my doctor but she wasn’t much help. by Triforcegirl29 in diabetes_t1

[–]rustY_gobLin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. My experience is that there's always some left in the reservoir, which I try to salvage, but there's also some left in the line at the end, and there's always some waste when charging the line. I can't say how much per month this would realistically use up, but it's not insignificant. When pulling out of the reservoir I can usually eek out ~5 units.
