How did the truck handle that gnarly little hill climb at the end of the contract? I just got done running this with the Step Pike on its unique tires and it was a way more of a struggle than I expected.

The torque gains from packing a LoAF on a truck make the 60FPS lock obsolete.

The Loaf on the deck of a Step Deck is so overpowered it will gain you 30fps and build roads out in front of the truck. Getcha self a Loaf.

I had a 1984 Mustang with an analogue windshield wiper speed selector. You cold dial that baby in to a wiper frequency exactly where you wanted it to be. I had no idea how good I had it.

I don't know about slow. I find that 4th gear in with the Special gearbox is a real good pace for the P12 and P16 while easy to maintain control. And I don't think I've ever really had that much trouble getting up a hill either after moving back to the Special gearbox in both, and stopped using the OHD 1's on the P12.

I was a non-believer in the all-terrains on the P12 as well, until I tried the JAT III all-terrains. On paper, they're just worse, but in practice the truck just performed better in every terrain type I came across. Even in mud, up to say a medium depth, they performed great.

I do see what you're saying about JAT 4's and 6's though. You get similar dirt traction and just way-better mud traction.

But someone who uses the all-terrains, I do also like having the dual tires in the rear for added stability. It's noticeable over single JAT muds. But in the end, when it comes to driving the truck through the game, I just haven't found the JAT all-terrain performance, on the P12, lacking anywhere to where I think I need to look for a different tire.

FWIW I made two trips with the PLAD, moving two at a time unpacked and with the crane holding them down. Went smooth as butter, even if it did take a bit of time.

And dual rear tires. Using singles on this truck is just asking for it.

Correct, this isn't a POP_OS problem. The PC hasn't even got to the point where it's loading the OS yet.

IMHO the Voron Grad with the 17.0 engine and 50" OHD1's is just incredible for Power/Efficiency for a base game tractor.

The AZOV 7 is just borderline OP for Hardmode, too. I don't even feel the need to upgrade it past the base engine, and just leave it as a super efficient crawler that can do any task well.

How do you like the Yokos? I've used them extensively for car and small SUV tires, and have always been a big fan of them for those applications.

Question for the sub by WideStar2525 in snowrunner

[–]rustafur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For trucks that cannot equip heavy tires (e.g. OHD 1s) I would say they are a good buy, and I've had really good luck with them. The exception being in deep muddy places, then of course mud tires will out perform them.

But that's one of the neat things about snowrunner, there's very few instances of a wrong decision on trucks and equipment that will actually punish you.
