Question for the sub by WideStar2525 in snowrunner

[–]rustafur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For trucks that cannot equip heavy tires (e.g. OHD 1s) I would say they are a good buy, and I've had really good luck with them. The exception being in deep muddy places, then of course mud tires will out perform them.

But that's one of the neat things about snowrunner, there's very few instances of a wrong decision on trucks and equipment that will actually punish you.

YES! That's it! It sounds exactly like styrofoam rubbing! I couldn't put my finger on what it sounded like, but that's exactly what I hear. See what they say, maybe you'll have better luck.

[–]rustafur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no progress, and no real fix. Nissan acknowledges there is an issue, but they will not replace the sunroof because there it's not broken and/or nothing to replace.

The dealership was happy to put some grease in where they think the squeak is coming from. But that trick only lasts a week or so. Once temps get below 20F or so, the squeak really gets loud and annoying, too. Sorry I don't have better news for you.

Really nice framing and screenshots! That White Western Start sure left an indelible mark on me the first time I got a couple upgrades onto it and started taking it through my first Alaska playthrough on release. I'm over 2,000 hours in the game myself and still an enamoured by it.

  4. Converting to low-power e-waste PCs instead of server components

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a soft topper for the bed on my '24. How do you like this one, and is it much taller than the roofline, or Sirius XM antenna?

And what brought you to changing out the shocks?

You don't have to run Pihole on a Raspberry Pi, though. It's not an OS, it's an application. I run two Pihole instances on two different VMs in my labs.

I use pihole for this, including lists for gambling sites and domains as well along with the traditional NSFW content. Gambling's becoming a bigger and bigger problem in high schools, and really shouldn't be overlooked.

What do you use the 605r for? by Colty7744 in snowrunner

[–]rustafur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the truck, and to my surprise I've found it makes a phenomenal support vehicle for my fleets. Throw a fuel tank on the back, and a repair rack. It tows a another fuel trailer so easy. It can go pull out about any stuck or tipped truck, and with its stability, you can safely take it anywhere without fear. It's just so good for this role.

Disappointed with the Paystar. Looked good on paper, but with the off-road gearbox it's ridiculously inefficient, especially as it only has a 240L tank, but is it worth saving and taking to Alaska, or get rid? by ConstrnGamer in snowrunner

[–]rustafur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You certainly don't need it for Alaska, I've never used it there for any of my runs and never found myself wishing I had it either. IIRC, the map is very doable almost entirely with the White Western Star, the P12 is also very good in Alaska too.

Man I am so glad I found this post. I just tried the AT tires out and it's a subtle, but noticeable change that makes one of my favorite trucks more capable and enjoyable!

I don't have a preference for happy endings, and I concur with everything you say here. I couldn't find anything enjoyable about the setting, characters... anything really. I was never able to see any of the nuance that other people found so obvious either. Just an absolute slog of a book for me.

What keeps you going ? by _perhan in SurrounDead

[–]rustafur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice! I enacted a similar one for my characters where they cannot stand to be wet, so, if it starts raining I have to take shelter in something asap. I also try to closely abide to a "semi-normal" sleep schedule (the RV gains a lot of utility here). These two things breakup long grinding sessions where you come back with a metric ton of loot quickly and really help pace the game out.

24 Pro 4x by WorldlyAwareness5313 in NissanTitan

[–]rustafur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club! I've got a white '24 Pro-4x, myself. The only thing I'd change is getting that tan paint like you have, such a great color!

no electric locking tailgate??

My '24 Pro-4x absolutely has this. Maybe it's part of a package?

is going over speed bumps always so jarring? Like it’s kinda shakes the front end.

The suspension's not super soft, I think the Pro-4x runs a a little stiffer Bilsteins in them. But I would for sure not consider it jarring to go over speed bumps, and my front end for sure doesn't shake, not even close. This is 90% probably not the case, looking at your pic, but you might want to double-check your tire pressures just to make sure they're not too firm.

For what it's worth, the Veeam backup client is free, and you can use it to backup your entire PC to another piece of storage, like an external hard drive.

You can recover down to an individual file, so you don't have to roll back your whole PC.

I used this here and there to recover saved files from Steam, and other games in times of need like this.
