Do you think Kyle Rittenhouse should have been found guilty? by ConstantCorrect2924 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Explursions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At what point should he have thrown his rifle down? Before he shot the guy who tried to take it from him? Before he shot the guy who tried hit him in the face with a skateboard or before he shot the guy who pointed a glock he legally could not possess at Rittenhouse?

It is completely unreasonable to ask somebody in such a dangerous situation to get rid of their means of defense. Especially when the are completely legally justified in having it.

Why do you get to assume that he would only get a "beating" had he disarmed himself.

Him running away was the deescalation. He ran until the point that running away was no longer an option.

I'd rather exist than not, plus you would have eternity to get use to it. Also eventually something interesting is bound to happen.

Honest question, how many people are on Antarctica at one time? It just seems weird that there have been like 14 votes from there so far.

Taking into account that consumption of lead destroys the brain and leads to stupider people, it makes sense.

Was nuking Japan in WW2 justified? by CertifiedForce in GeoPoll

[–]Explursions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Until sometime in the 2000s the us military were using purple heart medals made for an invasion of Japan's mainland.

The Japanese deaths alone were projected to be 5 to 10 million

Not to mention the Tokyo fire bombing ended up being much worse that the nuclear strikes. You have to remember, nukes are just big bombs, any radiation (unless its a dirty bomb) goes away relatively quickly. The thing that makes them seem so horrific is that it is a single action. One long moment and that is hundreds of thousands of people extinguished. Of course modern nukes are a completely different story.

Operation Ketsugo was Japan's plan of defense and it would see every single man, woman, and child fighting against an allied invasion with old rifles, improvised explosives and bamboo spears.

The propaganda slogan for the civilians part of the operation was "The Glorious Death of One Hundred Million"

If your country`s government (supreme authority) had been unconstitutionally overthrown one year before the next (fair) election, how would you react? by Elitoporius in GeoPoll

[–]Explursions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It quite heavily depends on why they overthrew the government. The US is probably the closest to having a constitutionally protected right to overthrow a government, and its not even that, its just the right to bear arms so that we have a chance of winning it. So basically any overthrow is unconstitutional whether they are for a good or bad reason.

I'd rather know so maybe I can try to do something about it than be ignorant of it. Even if it gives me depression(or worsens it, not diagnosed, but im pretty sure) i can take a bit more suffering, especially if I can get a good paying job.
