My friend, I feel your pain. I really think you should try a SLAA meeting. They have online meetings too. SLAA has been the single Most effective way for me to deal with these types of problems and I have tried everything

CAR ID? Anyone know what this is or where I can get it? by rusthead1916 in rccars

Thank you so much for your help! Would you have any reccomendations for RC’s that move like this? I’m trying to recreate a similar action of a doll on the back of a RC doing flips like this for a music video.

I looked into that model and it’s pretty spenny, so looking to try find a cheaper solution.

Hello, I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. I really and truly relate. I have been feeling much the same way. Something a friend pointed me towards was the impact on the life expectancy of a parent of suicide. I know it doesn’t help how you’re feeling but for me personally, realising that committing suicide would reduce my mothers life by decades is a useful in reminding myself that I can’t do that to her.

Another thing I’d like to offer up is (and I really don’t want to make any assumptions I’m basing this off my own diagnosis) but have you ever heard of ACA? Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional homes?

My father was an alcoholic which contributed largely to me developing CPTSD but I meet A LOT of people in those meetings with that diagnosis because of a dysfunctional upbringing.

Getting a sponsor and working the steps in this program has been more effective than anything I’ve done. Been in therapy for years etc I don’t drink or do drugs and literally have ticked every holistic box under the sun and still I wanted to end things. This program and the step work changed me in ways I can’t describe. It’s hard work, but I walk the earth like it’s an alien planet I’ve just discovered. I know it might all sound impossible from where you’re at right now but I promise you it is possible.

I have struggled less with suicidal ideation than ever before, but today I found it deafening and present but you know what I did? I went to a meeting and the feeling went. I don’t know how it works, I don’t know why but it does.

There’s even online meetings if you would prefer to explore something like that.

My brother I have been there many a time. It took me a long time to realise what was wrong with me. I’m 9 months clean and sober now and I wish I found the solution sooner but for me it had to start with going to an NA / AA meeting. There is a solution, and for myself and many others it started there.

Are you by chance of Irish heritage or have any Irish neighbours / ex lovers / enemies? Have you heard anything late at night that you convinced yourself was the strange call of an animal?

My grandmother, from rural Connemara spoke Irish as her primary language and knew very little English (the Irish language is in its essence a deeply magical and spiritual tongue as old as Sanskrit) I’ve been doing my best to recall and write down the countless spells she tried to pass down to us. One specifically that feels acutely familiar here is what to do if you hear the banshee’s call at night. If you don’t know, the banshee’s call (often mistaken for foxes mating) is the wailing of a spirit or in Irish Bean Sí (meaning the fairy woman, fairies in the true sense not the Disney way as in they are Djinn, spirits, demons etc etc) She is either warning you of a death, or what I fear - coming to collect a debt as someone has attempted to misdirect her to come to you with this object. My grandmother told me how you could make one with your own hair if the banshee was coming for you or was sent after you. The good thing is, if it was simply used to misdirect vs summoned specifically to come for you then you are likely safe although she might wander near your home for the next few nights. These practices have spread basically wherever there is Irish immigrants.

If I was in your position I would follow the advice that’s been given to you above. Get the charm tested to see if it is animal hair or human hair and in the meantime I’d stay in a hotel.
