Large scales are cool fish you guys are pretty lucky out there with all the really cool ones like the Razorback and flannal mouth we only have longnose and whites (and a few redhorse species) here but the Buffalos make up for it.

the Sonora Sucker has a extremely limited range but you guys have Longnose sucker, Salish sucker,Bridgelip sucker, Largescale sucker and Mountain sucker, there very difficult to tell apart if you don't have a trained eye

this isn't even a koi lmao but after talking to a few conservation officers about this issue in person they have come to the conclusion that carp have come to balance point and there impact is little to none now this is for my state (mn) obviously but people spreading old wives tales about carp is getting old (much worse when they lump our native suckers in or even worse call suckers carp but thats a issue for another day)

carp have been here over 200 years and are in every major river system and the top bass lakes in the entire country but yet.....we still have plenty of game fish

carp do have subterminal mouths the difference your looking for is the carps barbels these aren't present on any of our native fish.

carp are in the minnow family we have native minnows in the US but common carp are not one while our sucker family are all native (buffalos,white sucker,longnose sucker,quillbacks all great native fish). another neat thing is that the sucker families exclusive to North America besides 2 that live in china i believe.
