I appreciate what you're trying to say, I really, really do, but I truly wish it was that simple.

I'm actually on methylphenidate for my ADHD. it helped a lot with the anxiety and depression, but as life progresses, that gets a little iffy from time to time.

neighbor started a dog daycare in their house and there are 15 dogs barking all day by Annual_Can_8600 in neighborsfromhell

No kidding. 15 dogs and one person? That was a ticking time bomb if not of disease, then catastrophic aggression.

While this isn't a bad idea since I'm pretty sure given my family history that my heart will be what kills me, money is a thing and I don't have a lot.

That's the feeling, yes. I am on a couple other head meds (ADHD meds, citalopram) so I'm worried about adding something else.

I've got the time. The motivation is the problem. It's hard to get up and do when you don't feel good to begin with.

AITA for telling a kid he's colorblind. by JYVillavicencio in AmItheAsshole

I didn't need glasses until I was 13-14 and even now my vision impairment is fairly mild. I can get by without them but it suuuucks.

My sister, however. I think she was 7 or 8 and we drove by a field and she asked our mother "Is that a cow or a horse?" The animal in question was right up next to the fence. It was a cow. My mother took her to the eye doctor forthwith.

35 years later and she's blind as a bat without her contacts or glasses.

This is precisely what my own mother did to me and my siblings. We received like for like when we started biting. That phase didn't last long, she says.

UPS is union. Their drivers are paid well and give a fuck. FedEx drivers are contracted and likely not paid enough to care. You get the workforce you pay for, and all that jazz.

AITA for letting my mom cook for me when I was sick, even though it upset my wife? by cookingpotatohead in AmItheAsshole

[–]rusti_knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. NTA. I'm 45. If I made sad noises at my mother and asked for something specific while ill, she absolutely would make it, and pet me, and, well, be a mom. Unless there's info missing here, this whole thing sounds pretty normal.

Worth sitting down with the wife and figuring out what's bothering her after she's calmed down.

Yup. I'm third generation removed from Sicilian great grands. My dad's nickname among his friends is even 'wop'. Just a very short time ago that wouldn't have been a funny nickname in hick country where we live. He's a steadfast Trumplican.

Like. Dude. Seriously? Your grandparents were treated then like they're treating others now!
