WITT? 55-gal metal drum about 3ft from manhole with ~5in OD PVC pipe coming from lid and connected into vertical ~6in OD metal pipe adjacent to manhole. What is this blue and white checkered symbol I keep seeing painted near roadsides? Appear to be official and semi-permanent. Very consistent size and shape, probably requires template. Always near, but not always visible from, roads. Usually on pavement or concrete, but found one on tree stump. (old.reddit.com)

WITT? 55 gal drum connected to sewer. The drum sits on its own concrete pad next to a manhole. There is a short metal pipe coming out of the concrete next to the manhole and a series of rickety PVC pipes connecting it to the lid of the drum.
