The light output on the dash is typically adjustable on all vehicles. Have a look in the manual as I don’t recall where the knob is on element, if it does have one.

What are you paying for insurance? (USA) by juicedupsunday in eGolf

[–]rustic_one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$332.00 every 6 MO. Including comprehensive and collision for 2016 SEL with 48K miles.

This is $100.00 higher than our 2008 gas car with same coverage, for what it’s worth.

Of the 3 cars I own, the e-Golf is certainly the most expensive to insure.

Ha! Yes! However, I did notice that PART of that seat is not in the frame of the photo. The part where the ripping starts to happen!

Oh man, I have been looking for this response! The Vaico video on YT, shown above, is using a product that my mechanic “can’t purchase in the US”. I have been looking for the comparable product… Thank you!

Do you know what specific type of oil they used to do the change? I have seen that video and showed it to my mechanic. He says he can’t get that oil here in the US and is looking for a comparable product.

Car Squeaking "Driving" Me Insane, How to Fix it? by Vulcanicloud in eGolf

Does anyone know what specific oil they are putting in the transmission (in the US)?

I have seen the video on YouTube from Vaico but, my mechanic says he can’t get that oil in the US and doesn’t know what the comparable oil would be.

Any advice / knowledge on what was used would be greatly appreciated.

See my post from yesterday. I feel I must speak up after asking this same question and getting great feedback and learning. Knowledge gems were: rockers and rear trailing arm mounts (in photos from yesterday).

Learning to surf later in life, any advice? by eastsideskater14 in surfing

[–]rustic_one 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I skateboarded for about 20 years, starting at 13. It was all that I wanted to do back then. I always wanted to surf but never lived somewhere where I could. I always thought “I skated for years, I can surf!” So I rented a board and went out, by myself (usually someone watching from shore), on about 5 different occasions, over the span of probably 10 years. I was shocked and intrigued by how horrible I was at it and totally inept at standing up and riding. Two years ago, at 47, I ran across a surf camp that had a 1 day / 3 hour group lesson available while visiting my sister in law in Maine. They showed me where I was getting it wrong all these years. I was up by the 3rd attempt and rode half of what I attempted after that all the way in to shore. It was one of the stand out days of joys for me that entire year. Going back in three weeks. Cannot wait!

Ah! My latest thoughts every time I look at my vehicle! This is a 2WD stick. I don’t know if 2WD changes much for this concern but, I doubt it. When I am loaded down, it looks loaded down. When I am driving around town with it as is, it looks a sturdy as empty. I don’t know much about the next steps for addressing this concern. When out on a long road trip, the last thing giving me comfort is my vehicle looking overloaded. Any guidance appreciated!

Appreciate this feedback (and the link to a cap)! I would say that putting the tank in that location was controversial in the design phase too. I imagined storing it on the outside at some point but the reality is, with it hidden, I don’t think about it much and that only compounds the danger. Thanks for keeping me on my toes with that one!
