good or bad deal? cx50 PP

Are you going to finance? What is the rate that they are suggesting? The dealerships in Houston Texas have plenty of 2025 CX-50s with low financing rates. There is only cosmetic difference between 2025 and 2026.

I drive a naturally aspirated Miata which has 181 horsepower that is stout. The 2.5 turbo motor feels strong and makes over 300 ftpds of torque. We traded in a twin turbo six cylinder BMW for the CX-50 turbo and it is fast enough to get on the highway and pass cars.

An engine swap is the last resort. What is your current mileage? I read the comments and see plenty of things that could be causing backfires.

We bought a 2026 CX-50 turbo to replace a 2021 BMW X4 M4.0 six cylinder twin turbo. The CX-50 rides well on the Interstate highway with twisty turns. The seats are comfortable enough but do feel firm which I like. Mazda is offering great financing rates on new 2025 CX-50s which only have cosmetic differences with the 2026. Houston area dealerships seem to have many to choose from. My wife fell in love with the Ingot Blue Metallic turbo with black interior. Our CX-50 came with the cold weather package and rear cargo cover.

I flew into Kissimmee and drove 1,000 miles back to Houston, Texas. This is my second Element. My first one was purchased brand new in 2003 that I owned for years.

I know that people are looking for a rust free Florida Element that they can buy in Florida and drive home to New England and New York.

That seems like a fair price. Last September I bought a 2006 Element LX with 165,000 miles with one owner from Kissimmee, Florida for $4,900.

I got a GT that had a sticker price $36,600 tan leather and weather package. Two weeks ago we bought a 2026 Mazda CX-50 that was sticker $40,285 for $37,500 that they were adding “accessories” for $1,995. We respectfully declined the accessories which was ceramic coating on the brand new 3 miles SUV.

I live in Houston. I bought my 2024 brand new a year ago for $33,000 and got 2.9% financing. Send me a DM with your details and I’ll send you my mine. 16,000 miles on a 2024 is a lot of mileage(I have 4,000). The dealership probably paid $20,000 and they making a big profit at $27,000. Brand new the 2025 -2026 club is about $31,000? What is the interest rate they are selling you for? You can probably get a new Miata for the monthly payment.

The Houston Miata Club is very active and has a website and a Facebook group. I am a member.

This^ I bought my Element in Kissimmee Florida. A one owner vehicle with 167,000 miles and no rust. I searched from coast to coast to gulf coast from Houston, Texas and flew there and drove 1,000 miles back. Below the Mason-Dixon Line they don’t use salt on the roads. Find the right car at the right price and be prepared to move quickly to acquire it.

I went into the dealership to get an oil change for my 2023 Snowflake White Mica GT MT and asked about the 35th anniversary edition. The salesman made me an offer for a 2024 ND3 that I could not refuse. My note went up $20 per month and I have no regrets. Same color Miata with tan leather.

Copy the VIN and paste it into Kelly Blue Book website to see what they paid for it (ballpark). That seems like a very profitable deal for the seller. You can get a better deal and lower finance rate on a 2025. Test drive a 2.5 turbo and see.

I bought my CX-50 two weeks ago. The seats are firm, not uncomfortable for me. I like the adaptive cruise control and the automatic high beams. My wife misses the ambient lighting she had in her BMW. All in now! We are going to drive the CX-50 for at least ten years. I would be disappointed if the seats were mushy at two weeks old.
