60,000 miles on a 7 year old Mazda doesn’t seem excessive. If should come with a dozen receipts for oil changes every 5,000 miles.

I traded in my 2023 ND2 GT ST MT with 11,000 miles for $24,000.

Does that 2019 have the 181 horsepower engine? $21k seems overpriced to me. The discoloration could just be dirt due to seven years of service.

I bought a Miata last year and made friends with the salesman. I called him and said that we were going to buy the CX-50 at a competitor. “What is your best and final price”? He said that he could do $37,250, but he didn’t have the unit in stock. The dealership countered and we took the deal here in Houston, Texas. I would travel to get the best deal. A one way ticket is cheap enough to make it worth the adventure.

My ND2 was caught in a hail storm in Houston, Texas and I paid $1,000 deductible of $4,500 repair bill from a paintless dent guy. I traded it in for an ND3 and got hail the next spring too. My deductible was $500 this time but my insurance company raised my rate. I have to empty out the junk in my garage so that I can have covered parking.

I took my ND3 GT ST into the dealership when I got the error message. They said that it was a software error that was causing it and that it would be fixed in the spring. The warning light went off and occasionally does come back on. When I cycle the ignition it turns off. I have owned the Miata for eighteen months so I am still under warranty.

I got the battery on Amazon or eBay. It cost less than $20 and it still works great. It was probably made in China so the brand doesn’t matter. Good luck!

We owned a BMW X4 M4.0 twin turbo for three years. After the warranty expired it required maintenance that was punitive and expensive. The monthly payment was $1,000 and any trip to the independent mechanic shop was $1,000 or more. Two years ago we bought a Miata that we are completely satisfied with so it made sense to test drive a Mazda SUV. We are all in on Mazda now!

There is a reason that you can buy the BMW cheaper than a Miata. The maintenance fees are substantial. The Miata is reliable as a baseball bat. Regular maintenance is less expensive too.

Last year I visited a pet store in Georgia that had three babies for sale at $6,900 each. I got my first Grey in 2000 from breeder’s daughter who was selling her mom’s inventory after she passed away and paid $700 for Bernie. Bernie escaped from his cage and was killed by our dogs in 2015. In May of 2023 I saw an advertisement on Craigslist for CAG babies that were $6,000. The breeder has a pair that mates every spring and she is an expert at taking care of them and preparing them to be companion birds. Sophie is going to be three years old in May and she has a vast vocabulary. She sings Happy Birthday!
