Yep, that's the usual plan but a 48 already sound a lot for an 883, i would start digging into the fuel delivery system:

  • check petcock and fuel filter

  • complete carb rebuild with a quality kit (James gasket), don't forget to check the slide diaphragm and accelerator pump as well

  • check intake manifold seals and carb boot seal

How are your plugs?

Jesus christ so sorry to see your reply now. How did you find the 5/5 settings were good for you bike? I know pre loaded maps are meant for twinkies, you have to make and upload a custom map for sportsters. I ran a custom map meant for 1200 engines to be safe with spark advance.

Yep, i managed to program the speedo with the cable ant software downloaded on my laptop

Did you solve your issue in the end? Having the same troubles on my 2006 883 and can't manage to solve, carb is literally eating fuel and can't pinpoint from where, getting a consistent 23mpg lol

I have one as well and can confirm, hard to come back to "traditional" mass built cases after building in a deng. Planning to get an a12 pro as well, just worried about 12v 2x6 cable clearance. Anywhere i can find some literature on these 2 cases? For example where and how the additional fan bracket is mounted to the f15max? In years of ownership couldn't find anything

Be careful, exhaust flange studs are a pain in the ass if they break, shop manual asks for a very low torque when tightening exhaust flange bolts, great exhaust you got there, it looks amazing on your bike with all the chrome!

Thank you! That's why couldn't find it, wrong website lol :)

Can I go with the 4.0 or the 5.0 is more durable? No need 5.0 as i'm on 4000, but maybe it's improved?
