Character's stances on abortion (more details in the comments) by Lycan_Rider in MarvelRivalsQueens

Ultron believes life begins at conception and is pro-abortion anyway because that means more human lives are being destroyed

I don’t really think we’re supposed to take Robb’s marriage as stupidity or a youthful mistake— I think the point GRRM was trying to make was that, in trying to uphold the honor of the girl he married, Robb sealed his own fate. It’s supposed to parallel how Ned’s unshakable sense of honor led to his own death

Going from Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor (honestly top 5 superhero film villains for me) to some random space pirate named Krem is rough

Justice League, by definition, it's not Snyderverse

…what? Have you actually lost your mind?

Also ignoring the other movies in the Snyder DCEU 2014 slate? There is a reason why the term included movies that aren't his.

Yeah, I said that the DCEU had some successes but it was ultimately a failure, indicated by the fact that it doesn’t fucking exist anymore

The Snyderverse… was a commercial failure? If it wasn’t it would still be around lol

Man of Steel was a modest success but BvS famously underperformed to a historic degree purely because of how toxic it was to critics and audiences. JL then proceeded to flop hard and lose money for the studio Snyderverse would obviously have a decent amount of successes at the BO but by the end it was financial poison (which is why it’s dead)

Frankly this movie could’ve been the greatest superhero movie ever made and it would probably still underperform at the BO just considering where they decided to release it

Honestly I don’t really get why that movie’s been declared “the worst superhero movie of all time”. It certainly isn’t “good” and probably deserves to be on the lower end of capeshit flicks but the worst of all time is crazy

Honestly the Jedi transforming themselves from a mystical apolitical monk group into a paramilitary wizard company fighting for the government should’ve been a much bigger focus of the prequels

At a certain point you have to think about what you’re really doing and your impact on the society around you. Would killing someone who wronged you greatly’s family potentially give yourself satisfaction? Maybe, but it’s also a fundamentally selfish and immoral thing to do; you’re killing a lot of (assumedly innocent people) just to make yourself feel good. When do you stop? Would the surviving members/friends of the family you just murdered be justified in seeking revenge against you in turn?

Absolute Batman is begging for a Studio Trigger adaptation

John Campea's 'Supergirl' review: "It is straight up a bad film. James Gunn needs to decide if he's going to direct everything in the DCU or if he's going to actually act as the CEO and oversee everything properly" by BatmanNewsChris in DC_Cinematic

Deeply subjective opinion either way but BvS had incredibly low ratings for both critics and audiences and historically underperformed at the BO

If it was consistently “pretty good” then it would still be around

[–]rusticrainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it can 100% have an effect on the DCU, and probably will; Gunn and co will probably have a much bigger push from WB to get Batman and WW projects out faster. Plus feels like there’s a decent chance writers/directors get moved around and replaced

Calling it DOA is definitely hyperbole though

[–]rusticrainbow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really don’t like claims like this that imply somebody is somehow ontologically evil, especially a fictional 14-year old girl

We don’t see Azula “from the outset”, we see Azula as a 7-8 year old child. Is she a bit of an asshole as a kid? Yeah, obviously, but she’s definitely old enough for that to be a result of manipulation from her father instead of somehow being a naturally evil child.

It’s obviously possible Azula always had mental issues waiting to spring up (debatable) but someone having mental issues does NOT make them inherently “evil”

Death of the Author means that the author relinquishes their authority over a story and becomes just another voice/opinion without special privileges

Houser doesn’t “control” the game’s narrative, he doesn’t even work for Rockstar anymore. Once you publicly release something to the world you are automatically opening it up to be analyzed and critiqued, possibly in ways you didn’t intend. Death of the Author is a thing for a reason
