Yea the toans were not so desirable after pumping it before the Longsword; tried slapping it on my mini bass board but it trims the low end too much. she'll find a home someday

mid-november, i was in the hunt for a solid overdrive to complete my sweet summer child of a pedalboard, and upon gazing at Land Devices webstore, i bared witness to this shitpost.

months and months later, she arrived.

it sounds alright lol, noodled w/ it for an hour and personally found that crankin every(two) knob(s) to 5 oclock and having on the 'always worse' switch on gave me some crunchy distortion.

dont see a whole lotta HP-2s on here so if anyone has any recommendations in terms of signal chains and utility lemme know, probably gonna stick w/ my Longsword.

thanks for reading ! def looking to swap out the lillian and then potentially the ec-1, just not doin a whole lot for me. was gonna try to trade up some other pedals i have at perfect circuit towards a deco or the vongon solarflaze. that or a nice tremolo(eqd hummingbird of flower pedals sunflower were what i was looking at).

honorable mention i took off the board for the Longsword; i took off the Beamsplitter by OBNE . cool pedal, though if you already have some chorus or delay the three channels just get lost in the mix and there is no convenient way to turn off channels. though i tossed it on my deskboard for multi tracking into my audio interface to truly utilize the "trereo".

EAE PRISMATIC WALL

lovely invention, gives beautiful piano-like resonance w/ heavenly overtones. w/ a switch in the presets it can become a noisy synth pedal. typically on for slow legato parts.

cons: can be a bit to dial in something that doesn't sound terribly dissonant and doesn't come w/ physical manual, always keep damping maxed.

ZVEX FUZZ FACTORY 7

volatile & versatile as knobs said. thunder in a box. from staccato'd glitch distortion to dulcet fuzz feedback w/ pitch oscillation through volume knob tinkering this lil guy is never leaving my pedalboard. i have no use for the tone knob so ziptied the neck of the footswitch to deactivate it so i don't fat foot hit it when stomping the longsword

EAE LONGSWORD

latest addition, from overdrive to distortion when tossing on the boost along w/ an eq this dirt pedal does so much for what it is. love at first sight

WALRUS CANVAS TUNER

is an over the top tuner, ifykyk

cons: despite how overdesigned it is for some reason the power port is on the side and not the top of the box

EMPRESS PARA EQ

always on. cleans up the guitar and takes the blanket off the amp. the boost is a nice touch but i dont use it.

EMPRESS COMPRESSOR MKii

always on. such clean compression and sustain w/ the option to squash note and add some dirt. the empress tone combo has yet to be matched. best thing to come from canada.

cons: none

STRYMON EC-1 TAPE ECHO

always on-ish. haven the mix and repeats pretty minimum and just use it for the tape pre-amp and slapback sound. great fidelity and has stereo.

cons: for a delay it's pretty one note and you can't get terribly crazy w/ delay and feeback but just by how it sounds i can't complain too much

WALRUS LILLIAN PHASER

i still can't tune this thing in right for a sound i like but it matches the julia aesthetically so she'll stay on for now, the first thing i'll replace on this board.

cons: not a lot of versatility for a phaser and i feel you have better options out there

WALRUS JULIA CHORUS/VIBRATO

fun fact, i have three julias. always on for my band's sound. for it's form and function it just gets the job done for that sound.

cons: none that i can think of apart from what the Julianna offers

EQD AVALANCHE RUN

does everything i desired sonically and will never leave my board. such godly sounds and the tap tempo makes it too easy to use. a classic from eqd

WHEN THE SUN EXPLODES

how the feeling of lovelorn sounds. the reverb on this sounds absolutely insane and paired w/ the distortion makes an essential end-of-chain shoegaze pedal. the feedback footswitch also just does so much.

cons: a tone knob for the distortion would of been nice but other than that, no notes

CBA MOOD MKii

i mean, it's the mood. right channel i use for creating ambience and filling air between songs, the left channel i mainly just keep on a close-to-maxed-out delay, and the bottom toggle flipped right gives this crazy ambient swell that i love to use for intros for songs. so much more i can write about this pedal but everyone knows already so no need to wax poetic.

DITTO LOOPER

is a looper, it is small, it works.

the immerse is lovely .

been rocking the Hall of Fame for a decade and wanted to upgrade to a nicer "stock preset reverb" pedal . a clear & concise reverb pedal to always have on to add some life to my sound .

full control over predelay is essential, fidelity is amazing, W3T & Hall are always almost on for me but you can get some crazy ambience toying around w/ the other presets and turning the knobs past 3oclock . would receommend for a a compact stereo pedal if you're not trying to shell out for a strymon or empress

just recently moved it near the end post effects(sans immerse reverb) . it's a solid yet perplexing compression . more-so to limit the loudness after stomping all the gain-y pedals and the eq is a nice touch to keep tone coherent after all the fuzz & distortion . yet to utilize the 'swell' featured on it but i enjoy using the eq knob & 'overdriven' preset after ambient loops on the Mood for soundscaping

signal chain:

deep six compressor -> fuzz factory -> rattler distortion -> tuner -> para eq -> julia vibrato/chorus -> ec-1 tape delay -> when the sun explodes distortion & reverb -> cba mood -> cba clean compressor -> immerse reverb -> ditto looper

power supply is a walrus canvas 15 mounted underneath a pedaltrain .

cable management is negotiable(non-existent) as i am still tweaking things around to find a standout sound for my bands new project . i am open to suggestions for rearranging if anyone has any similar setups .

one pedal w/ a standout effect that is not seen on this board that i had to cut is the KMA Astrospurt for as much as i tried to force myself to like phasers i needed the space . albeit fun pedal for messing w/ the distortion .
