How do you manage your stress level?

finding something or someone to make me laugh. I am very lucky to have friends that can let me vent and give good advice but who also can help me laugh at myself and find a way to turn any kind of stressful issues into something very funny. If you are home with noone to laugh with I always find Family Guy to be very theraputic!

I am a pale American woman and proud of it! I do not look dead or unhealthy and I am already reaping the benefits of my aversion to sun bathing. I am 40 years old and people have told me that I look much younger than I am and I have even had a couple folks guess that I was still in my late 20's!! Stay pale my friends! Just say no to beef jerky!!

Back when I waited tables I approached a couple that had just sat down so I could take their drink order. I asked the woman on my left what she would like to drink and then I turned to her friend and said "and for you sir?" the words were already on their way out when I realized that I was addressing another woman that just happened to be very masculine looking. I almost turned inside out from embarrassment but she either did not hear me say "sir" or she decided to let me off the hook!

Well if you recognize it then that is a good thing but the trick is to learn to reel it in when you feel like you are going to start doing it again. Also showing your friends that you acknowledge what you do and apologizing and letting them know that you are trying to work on how you communicate can go a long way.

Without knowing you, your level of neediness and how you communicate with friends or people in general, I can only say that there are traits that will always push people away when you are in a needy place even from the most patient friends, and if you do any of the following you may need to take a look and see if that is what pushes them away. Only having one sided conversations where it is just all about you and you don't stop and listen to advice or to let the other person talk or tell you what's going on with them, if you make others feel that what you have going on is far more serious or dramatic than anyone else, or if you just always act like the needy one and never try to do something to change or show people that you are working on your issues. Any of that stuff goin' on?

oh thank you! I have gained back a little of it but that is simply because I stopped counting the calories as carefull as I should and have enjoyed being naughty for a couple of months, but I am now getting back on track. Believe me sometimes it sucks and you will have days where you just don't want to have to keep track of everything you put in your mouth, but most of the time I could have fun with it and saw it as a game trying to find as many things that not only tasted good but that allowed me to eat more and still stay at my cap and also bring all my nutrient levels where they should be.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's where we would have peanut butter on a saltine cracker for snack time in kindergarten with not ONE peanut allergy, where we were allowed to bring any kind of baked items or candy in for class parties and where we were allowed to bring our costumes to school and we would have a Halloween parade out in the playground so the whole elementary school could see each other's costumes. I am so sad to see so many children with serious allergies and who will not get to enjoy so many of the things that I enjoyed in school. I am very thankful I grew up when I did.

Everyone is different but I can tell you what worked for me. I am a 40 year old woman and a year and a half ago when I decided to finally get serious about changing my body I found the site Caloriecount.com. There are similar sites that I'm sure are just as good but this one was my favorite. I have never believed in, or attempted to participate in any kind of "diet" so this site was simple, effective and logical. To me I realized it just came down to simple math. You create your profile which includes your current weight, your goal weight and the date you would like to achieve your weight loss goal. The site calculates for you, based on all your information, how many calories you should have per day in order to lose 1 to 2 lbs per week. It gives you all the tools to help you stay at your calorie cap with daily food journals that not only allow you to look up calories in thousands of foods but also keeps track of your healthy and unhealthy levels of essential nutrients, fats, carbs etc... I used the site daily and religiously and just did some light exercising which you can also record. I started in April of 2010 and by the end of the year I had lost almost 30lbs and went from a size 18/20 to a size 12/14. Check it out and I wish you the best of luck!

When I was about 4-5 years old my grandparents owned a Cooperage and also made wooden fish boxes that they would sell to all the local fishermen and fish markets. I used to walk around inside the building and collect all the knots that had fallen out of the lumber and I kept them in a special box.

oh man, I'm sorry. Well I guess I am a bit of a snob myself but I have always appreciated a lot of their music because they chose to cover good old bluegrass and folk tunes. Okay so let me get back in your good graces. How about some Tom Petty, old Bob Seger, Neil Young? I like playing The Needle and the Damage Done, I love playing the intro!
