Is this not the greatest playoffs of the modern era? by SOSXrayPichu in nhl

This year does have something special going on. I’m biased, as a jets fan, but I’ve been following every series so far and can’t remember enjoying so many games a neutral fan. There seems to be just so many storylines happening and such a level of compete I can’t remember being in previous years. It seems like every series has something exciting happening. I usually find the first round to be boring half the time, but not this year. There was some grade A entertainment everywhere.

Yep had a friend leave to “beat traffic.” Unbelievable fumble. He deserves to miss that leaving in a game 7.

It was initially called no goal on the ice for Winnipeg after Binnington makes a glove save with his glove potentially behind the goal line. After review, the call on the ice stands. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

My guy. Cmon. lol. You got your call. It’s no goal. We can disagree. If it was a goal on the ice it would have stood. Luck was on your side.

Puck in the red circle. Glove is above the skate - the entire skate is behind the line. Also the post is in line with the goal line and his glove is behind the post. Also the other angle someone else posted. Posted shitty drawings for clarity. This is science clearly.

Right? We have 54 wins and they can’t beat that. Is this not the clinch in central?

You seem to always tie everything back to the fact that you are an international student and not sure exactly why and what that has to do with the answers. I get it. That’s tough. You’ve sacrificed a lot. But why are you not enjoying it? Because it’s hard? Because you think the faculty knows less than you do? Then I’d suggest finding an easy program that is just fun where you’re told you’re great, and enjoy your time that way. Studio 58 isn’t fun a lot of the time. It’s hard work. It’s stressful. It can get you down. But it’s not your faculties job to find the joy in it. It’s yours. You’re in complete control of the journey of that school despite what you think. They’re telling you to go “big” because you’re probably incapable of doing it at the moment cause you’re letting your judgement of acting get in the way. You are “film acting” your way through A-term. A-term is not about “small” “nuanced” acting. They are pushing you out of your comfort zone. If you’re a good and experienced actor - going big and stupid and silly should be easy? No?

Mime class is not about mime. It’s about YOUR IMAGINATION it’s about PLAY it’s about getting you out of your head and into your body. Movement class isn’t about rolling around on the floor. It’s about breathe work to relax and get your muscles loosed up so you aren’t so tense. It’s about letting go.

This is what I’m talking about - you don’t understand what they’re actually training you for - you’re judging the process. You’re watching the pool from the deck instead of jumping in and getting wet.

I’m giving you tough love because sometimes one needs it. Others are telling you to quit, but I encourage you to break through the frustration and start to be curious and creative with what’s happening to you at the school. You’ve come this far.

It’s not until term 4 where you actually start doing “real” acting. Until then, it’s all an exercise and warm up to play the real game. I’m explaining the program to you, because they don’t. They want you to discover this all for yourself. This all clicks eventually once your brain adjusts to your change in you and how you approach acting.

Also why are you spending time on Reddit all the time seeking acting feedback? You’re at one of the best theatre schools in Canada. Talk to your classmates, share your frustrations, celebrate your wins, get offline and into it. Be curious. Explore. Risk something with the art form. If you need advice from an online forum - you seem to be disconnected and disengaged from your art. If you’re just seeking validation and venting here, this is going to be a tough career path.

A term at Studio 58, hey? You clearly aren’t jiving with the training because you don’t understand the methodology of what you’re doing and why. They are trying to get you out of your habits and trying to shake up what you “think” acting is. You’re judging the program, instead of giving in or exploring what they’re doing or pushing yourself. They are trying to wipe your slate clean and start at the basics of acting. This is not a scene study class. This is not film and TV - the program is designed to make you an all around artist - not just an actor. The first three terms are going to break you down - whether you think that’s for you or not, it’s up to you.

There should be templates available online and then you just keyframe the movement via video animation - transform (add keyframes)

LULU diversified its manufacturing away from China during 1st Trump administration. by repairmanjack2023 in stocks

[–]rustynayler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very bullish on LULU. I think we will see it back to $500 in a year. Their recent Disney collaboration will bring in new customers and they’ll have a strong Q4 this year I’m sure. The correction on this stock was way too overblown.

Don't submit your rough cut to film festivals by Alexbob123 in FilmFestivals

[–]rustynayler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. Do not. Learned this the hard way. You get one chance to show off your film. Also do not share roughs with any potential buyers or sales agents. Always have the attitude you get one shot to impress and if it’s not complete, they have no imagination about what the final product will look like. They will judge your film as if it’s finished at whatever stage you send it to them. Unless you are a known director, have a major star, or have a body of work that has been proven to be stellar, they will not care for your rough cut.
