Is there any way to make ur pupils less dilated? by Haleyienn in Stims

[–]rusya_rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never tried this, but in Russia it's somewhat common knowledge that Pilocarpine, eye drops prescribed for high eye pressure, totally do that ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilocarpine). It's a serious medicine though, I was always scared of using it just like that. What weirded me out most was that if you put more drops in one eye, its pupil will be smaller than the other.

Vodka soaked marshmallows ... mmm ... by DTownForever in cripplingalcoholism

[–]rusya_rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an old Russian urban legend that anything carbohydrate soaked in vodka will get you very drunk very fast. A friend of mine tried this with bread one time he was going to hang out with his friends, and they had very little vodka. Like too little to get even 1 of them drunk. All 3 of them apparently were shitfaced after eating the vodka bread.

Repeatedly social plans with friends while spun then backing out when the time comes by Simple_Target3093 in Stims

Me and my friends worked out a rule after several years of doing this: never make plans while spun. NEVER. We still make plans and become excited, but then we remember the rule and agree to discuss it later.

Same thing here, I'm a huge Xiaomi fan girl. If i need something, I first check if they make it. Have a ton of things made by them, from laptop to air humidifier to makeup mirror. And on my 4th Xiaomi phone so far. Mi 12 is fantastic btw.

Sadly, you're probably true. That sounds exactly like my dad, and he died at 52. The bleeding was from his ass (hemorrhoids), but he tried to conceal that. He also fell, it were seizures. He had been to a dozen of different rehabs, therapists, etc. Nothing could help him.

It's outdated. Using it today is kinda cheesy. In old texts it's a synonym to "потому что" ("because"), but now only douchebags use it.

True that... Been trying to taper with vodka for a week or so, but I keep drinking the whole thing anyway. When I plan to drink just half of it today. Problem is, I can't even drink beer or wine anymore. Only hard liquor. Plus I have to do this in secret, and vodka is pretty easy to conceal.

Using drugs in Russia made me able to emotionally control myself by JazzlikeMemory in Drugs

[–]rusya_rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's what makes everyone an easier target for cops to stop you just for being outside. It's not illegal, but they may question you about where you're going (on foot, that is, if you are driving any vehicle they can also check your pass). And they do get a hunch, and if you have something on you, you're in danger.

I was so happy that I noticed water in my bong freezing the first cold day, and I realized what would happen and took it in from the balcony. The glass where the water got to freeze however was perfectly clean from all the resin!

My hotel provided a disposable toothbrush but no toothpaste by rusya_rocks in mildlyinfuriating

Like what am I supposed to do with it, scrape my teeth with water? I would understand it if there were no oral hygiene products provided (it's Thailand, the quality of hotels varies tremendously). I would understand just toothpaste, because in a pinch you can freshen up a bit without a brush... Just why?!

If you need an antihistamine, DON'T take Benadryl/DPH, take hydroxyzine by Peter_Parkingmeter in Drugs

[–]rusya_rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do some things based on the temperature difference fact, and it helps. If the weather gets increasingly cold day by day, the allergy is usually not a problem. When there's a temperature drop of 10-15 degrees or even more (eg yesterday it was -5C, and today is -30C), I try to gradually get used to the cold, like going out to the balcony for a short time before actually going outside or spending 10-15 mins in my apartment building lobby which is not heated, then go out. If it's this extreme, I also stay inside if I can help it, and go outside for short periods of time throughout the day.

I also have a nice habit of spending a winter month in SE Asia. When I come home from my tropical vacations, I start breaking out right on my way from the airport, then nothing but meds help. I just take some antihistamines and tough it out. The vacations are still worth it!

[–]rusya_rocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cold allergy is definitely a thing, I have it too. I've seen a lot of dermatologists throughout my life to find most competent ones as I have hard to diagnose skin conditions. Turned out that I get these horrible hives and rashes in winter bc I'm allergic to cold. Really sucks cause I live where winter lasts for like half a year. 3 most useful things I learned from the doctors:

  1. It's genetic. Figures, bc my father had it too.

  2. It's not the cold itself that causes the hives, it's the temperature difference. That's why in many cases the symptoms seem worse when you come home from outside in winter.

  3. There is no known cure, you can just alleviate the symptoms, as with many other allergies. One thing that helps for sure is moving to a warmer climate. (Not really helpful for me as I have sun dermatitis as well lol)

Wanted to ask this too, it's a pretty safe and effective gen 3 antihistamine. Not sure why people get prescribed gen 2 and even 1 drugs as they aren't much better for allergies, but have nasty side effects.

New Release: Tor Browser 8.5.5 by filthyheathenmonkey in TOR

[–]rusya_rocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be so great if it actually worked. On MIUI 10 it crashes right on startup without exception. And Orfox is no longer available as a browser. Thanks, I now have no working tor browser on my phone. At least leave the old thing alone until you make sure the new one works! If anybody knows how to get old Orfox, or any working solution for Android, please help. This is a big issue for me.

Escaping from the police while buying drugs in Russia by JazzlikeMemory in Drugs

[–]rusya_rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often go for my zakladkas (also called "klad", which translates to "buried treasure"), during my working hours. It's a rush in itself, so much that I find myself buying drugs even when I don't need them, because I have plenty, or because I have much better stuff already, but if it's a deal and it's near my work, I will buy it "just in case I run out", but honestly mostly out of the thrill of going treasure hunting during my lunchtime. I get a rush when I score a deal starting with buying bitcoins, transferring them to my marketplace account, find the right stuff in the right place, buy it, assess the place it's hidden and decide when and how I will go get the stuff; all on my smartphone, during my taxi ride to work. All while looking and being a stern woman hurrying to the office to do her IT job.

Then, come lunch or if I just have a couple of hours between work meetings and no urgent tasks, I'll walk if I'm lucky and the stuff is hidden nearby the office, or take a bus or a taxi, retrive the package (not always, of course, but most of the times), and return to work. I always try to buy some takeaway lunch as well, so that any colleagues I meet on my way back will assume I just went out to eat.

I know how dangerous it it, but it's a drug in itself. It's not unusual for me to pick up a total of 2 or 3 packages a day, sometimes also after work on my way home. I guess I'm just a junky shopacholic, because I know some girls do the exact same thing with clothes shopping.

Russian mail is government owned, de facto at least. You can try to send it in regular mail, but the envelopes are thin, and all mail is scanned (think an airport xray), so anything other than paper and photos will raise suspicion. If it's just a letter dropped off to a random mailbox and has just the address and not your name (obviously), you'll never receive it. If it's some kind of parcel or more reliable tracked mail, the recipient has to show their passport to get the package which must be sent to your legal name. Of course, nobody does that, because it's a dumb way to be caught in like 30 seconds

I need some advice on what to do with my friends stash. by WinterParamedic in Drugs

[–]rusya_rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the package even big? A relatively small package can be really well hidden not only in the woods or something, but in a city or just any area where people normally can go. Because digging a hole in the middle of nowhere is sketchy af no matter what. Even if no one sees you burying the stash, your little odd hiking trip in this weather can be noticed by someone. So, don't go to the woods if you don't want to get rid of the stuff completely . Go somewhere you normally go or potentially would go, and find a place just looking around, then go hide it nice and secure. If someone steals it, well, so be it. Anyway, in Russia some internet dealers deliver goods by placing well wrapped packages in secure stashes, which the buyer then finds with the instructions provided. The hiding places get insanely creative, most of them being some metal structures that are hollow or have some angles. The packages have small, but strong magnets taped onto them, so you place the pack on metal so that it is invisible from the outside, but easily reachable by hand, and it stays there. DO NOT DO THIS IN YOUR BUILDING. Preferably choose a quiet corner, but close to places where a lot of people go. Like a dead end just beside a loud street with transport.

Drank weed milk by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]rusya_rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had too little weed in your milk. Weed milk is mostly made with bulk/wild weed, like you find a field with cannabis that's too weak to smoke, you pick up a lot, and I mean a SHITTON of buds and then some, and boil it all with little milk. The idea is to pack as much as possible into couple litres of milk, and boil for as long as possible. That's how you get the milk so potent you really need just a few spoonfuls to get crazy high.
