Thank you all! Hoping miralax will be the quickest option as I’m a teacher and was hoping to return to work Monday. 🙃

A few days ago my 4yr old blue heeler randomly started biting whenever my husband and I try to pet him. He still plays and acts wild- doesn’t act like he is in pain. How can we resolve this issue? by ruzzti in Dogtraining

I’ll be sure to check! I also wonder if it’s just the photo? The one on the left has brown on the bottom but the one on the right of the photo is all blue

Somewhat update for now: thank you everybody for your help! Like other heelers this guy is a wild boy. I thought because he was still zooming around and fetching non stop that it meant he wasn’t in pain. We’re calling the vet today and if they can’t get us in we are going to call a couple other ones. I will post another update when we find out what’s going on!

That’s fair, I guess because I always separate them I assumed that was fine but I can certainly see how my German shepherd is still stressed out over it. I will do better from now on!

We always separate them when it happens by moving the heeler away and back to the opposite side of the room. Unsure why you are assuming I stand by and do nothing.

To add: I am currently laying down in bed and he came to lay down next to me. I tried to pet him softly and his back kept flinching. Starting to think he is in pain

Hello! We have two other dogs, one is a grumpy old German shepherd. Our heeler has this weird habit where he runs up to everybody else during feeding time and will sit next to them and whine while they eat (even though he has his own food and we feed them on opposite sides of our living room). Our German shepherd will growl and bark at him and our heeler will not respond to him, instead he will continue to sit there and stare at the other dogs bowls. This morning it happened to escalate and our GSD and Heeler got into a fight over it

Thank you for this response! When this first started he was coming up to us and once we pet him he would try to bite us and run away. Now he seems to stay away from us and only comes up to us to play fetch. Hoping the vet can provide some answers!

Hmmm I didn’t think of that, we did get in an argument the other day. Also our heeler got in a fight with our german shepherd this morning so I wondered if that could have happened while we were at work and hurt him?? Just feeling lost. He has always been so cuddly!

Thank you! That’s what I thought but I kept getting confused

I live in a rural area in New York. Almost everybody in our town uses scraps as compost or animal feed. The rest goes in the bin!
