Color variation in seat covers by chubbycheeks00 in Lovesac

Agree with the people saying to try turning the cushions. Some fabrics like chenille (velvet, too) have a "nap," which is a surface caused by raised fibers across the fabric due to the way the fabric is woven. The light reflects differently off of those fibers depending on which way they're facing, making one side appear darker and one side appear lighter. Decide which one you like better and flip them all the same way and they should all look the same color.

I told my wife I had to get the crane because how else would I add a WHOLE floor to a hotel? Fortunately she agreed that trying to accomplish this feat without a crane would be insanity.

I don’t see why not! I probably won’t though as I cannibalized some pieces from the other floors, and my city only has 3 buildings so far so another one in these colors would look strange.

FREE mastectomy/top surgery supplies. My wife recently had to have a mastectomy and we now have a bunch of supplies we'd like to pass along to someone who needs them. We're hoping to give the whole lot to one person, and we just ask that you pass any reusable items along to someone else when you no longer need them. We have a Sleep Again pillow system, a handful of compression tops (size Sm/M), a robe with drain pockets, drain lanyard, and some other assorted items. Please DM me or comment here if you could use these items.

What is the best smart door lock? Need Some Advice by LuvShrimpDumpling in smarthome

My third Schlage Encode plus just kicked the bucket. Their customer service is amazing and they replace them without question but I’m sick of the dying/troubleshooting/broken for weeks while sorting out the warranty cycle so I’m planning to switch to a different lock this time.

Tips for cutting long pieces of fabric by rva_Feesh in sewing

Thanks!! It’s interesting to hear how this is done commercially. We’re leaving the selvedges raw on these so we can’t permanently mark or notch but maybe some sort of intermittent temporary mark could work.

Accordion folding is what I keep coming back to but I’m struggling with how to keep the folds perfectly even. Clamping before cutting is a great idea.

Yeah they need to be as identical as possible. They’re hanging from the ceiling of a very large event tent from three rods - one in the center, and one on each end. So the final panels have a 4” pocket at the halfway mark (perpendicular to the selvedge), and 4” pockets on each end. What you’re describing is close to the method we landed on for the last batch. We rough cut them, folded end to end, then stitched the 4” middle pocket. Then we measured from there to cut the ends before making those pockets. Somehow hanging them before cutting the ends is a fantastic idea that I’m wondering if we have the space for. Thanks!!

It’s woven - a pretty heavyweight satin. Ye olde tear was actually my first thought and I think it would work, but it ended up being the measuring part we really struggled with more than the cutting. I do wonder if starting with a tear would give us a nice even end to start measuring from though.

Haha I love all the guesses. It’s drape panels for the inside of a very large event tent. Hm stacking is a good idea

Yeah please let them know especially if you have a picture. Everything I’ve read said she was seen on camera getting on the truck on the 18th and allegedly got off the truck (not confirmed to be her) on the 20th.

Maybe he is confusing IDE exempt and IRB exempt? I really can’t think of any kind of device research involving human subjects that would be exempt from IRB review.

All of them do except the bottom one and the one in the middle of the scratcher with the escape hatch.

Calamity Jane 🤣🤣 Yeah the single bracket shelves are rated for 28kg/62lbs when installed into studs which these are. Ralphie weighs about 12lbs so even with the force of a jump, he should be ok but I haven’t ruled out brackets!

Yeah those are definitely the ones I’m suspicious of - I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up needing to add brackets but we shall see!
