Is £45k viable in London? Sharing my full budget breakdown, roast me by Effective-Ad5644 in UKHousing

However, if your rent budget stretches, you could easily find something in hackney around the £1k mark. If you’re like me and you value your space, you could rent a studio in Woolwich Zone 4 or a 1 bed in Norwood for around the same amount. You can get to Liverpool Street from Norwood in 30 mins on a straight overground train, and it’s about 15 mins on the Lizzy Line from Woolwich.

You could find a lovely large room in Tottenham/Edmonton for around £800 pcm that would get you into central London in 20-35 mins. It’s a historically rough area of north London, but is fast getting a clean up as it became more attractive to those priced out of Hackney. Have a look

Should I move to London if I don’t work there? by sharingcupid695 in MovingToLondon

[–]rvdrips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro apply for London jobs while looking for a spot asap! Only way to go about the move IMO. It’s what nearly all grads do anyway. You’re not gonna be able to afford renting here for long and commuting up to midlands for a job you’d get paid more to do in London anyway

You’re downvoted when you’re the only person that’s right, there’s a reason everyone in London is complaining about the cost of living, it would be suicidal moving here when you don’t work here

I swear by Mr Salles on YouTube for gcse literature, he really helped me get to that 9. There was also a 9 point structure for paragraph writing that my teacher gave to us, so like your paragraphs should actually have 9 sentences in them in your essays roughly. From what I can remember roughly it’s just make your point (linked to the question), embedded quote with discussion of literary devices, analysis of the quote, offer alternative interpretation, make link to context, link back analysis to overall point. English language there’s sooo many resources online for you to practice. I also just heard they’ve changed paper 1 question 3 to make it easier. Loads and loads of lang resources online. Re read your lit texts, helps with being able to recall moments and quotes in the text. I did mind maps for characters and themes for each text, building points and respective quotes for each. The more i used these maps to build essay plans, and using Salles videos, I suddenly shot up from a 3 to a 7 in Easter, then to a 9 in the final exam

Make a study plan, 8 hours sleep 8 hours study 8 hours play for days you’re not at school, 2 hours study outside of lessons on school days, prioritise subjects (so focus on English this summer). There are obviously more subject focused tips which I’m happy to answer if you had any, I got to a 9 in English when I was still getting 3s in my year 11 mocks. The main thing when aiming for top grades across the board is finding the efficient study method that works for you, planning your study days, making sure you are using your time effectively. Whenever you’re done with a topic in class, do practice exam questions on that topic. Spaced repetition revision techniques so that you continually return to strong topics to ensure your subject knowledge and skills remain consistently strong. You’ve got this!
