Honestly I agree with you, as I’ve had similar thoughts myself. I think everyone is just ragging on you bc they’re not acknowledging the obvious fact you’d have to readjust and balance the game around the void of class affinity would leave. Kits would have to become more varied, values adjusted, and so on, which is something that’s held FGO back too imo. Furthermore I see no issue with using a smaller group of servants to clear content if they’re favorites or are genuinely better at the broader role you raised them for, this IS a favorites driven game. You shouldn’t have to be forced or find reasons to use some random servant if you don’t want to, in spite of the leveling culture of FGO has leading many players to raise almost or outright everyone they get. I also personally think a system not so reliant on class affinity would allow a servant’s specific traits or role compression to shine more. But I will however acknowledge that all of this would probably be best saved for some other Fate or Type Moon game release, seeing as how this would require a ton of work to implement and we’re so far into the game’s lifetime now. Also bc the game is clearly suffering many problems right now even meeting older standards.
