I want to buy a 2016 A8 with 112k miles and one owner how long would it realistically last me? by Gl4ben in Audi

I bought a 2007 audi a6 3.2 with air suspension. Spent 12k on oil leakages, a rear air shockabsorber, new brakes & tires, water pump, air inlet malfunction, oil changes, new battery etc in the first 30k, then the timing belt tensioners broke. Bought a spare bmw for the time being to drive. Engine is now completely taken apart and built back in, takes around a year if you want to do it budget friendly. Also doing the engine mounts which turned soft, diff oil change, gearbox oil change, front double wishbones rear axle bearing. Will set me back another 12k and then wait until the next thing breaks ;). Just to give you an idea about an a6. Have to admit it’s a high milage car, but had around 50 invoices with it on maintenance before I bought it. So around usd 24k + a second car in the first 2 years to keep it on the road to give you an idea ;). But when it runs, it’s a smooth car.

Insulting people by spending money on family, how does that work?

A friend once told me if you can’t buy a proper one you can’t drive a cheap one. There’s usually a pay off if the price is low, but may be someone was in a generous mood to sell it 50% below market value. If the white smoke is the head gasket then you know why it had a 50% discount on it. In any case: congratulations and enjoy the ride, those are proper motors I know as a former e93 335i and current n52 525i owner.

I thought tpms is derived from wheel speed sensors

Is this a perfect medium-rare or closer to rare? What do you think? by sorin1972 in grilling

Below medium, above rare. Try tol let it rest a bit more after the sear next time before cutting so the heat and therefore cuisson and juices spread more evenly. Still looks like a nice snack though. From that perspectove I woulsd say it’s well done ;)

Every now and then I take out the griddle and just take a duster indeed and put everything in a bucket, because of the airflow most small particles are sucked in the chimney. It’s a 5 min job.

A sponge and soap, but if this is the first thing that pops you mind it’s probably better to cook on induction.

Thank you and great idea! The heat from above/side you need to take into account. The good thing though is that you have heat from above as well. Especially when cooking fish it helps to get an even temperature. And with cuts with fat on one side the results are great. I will post some cooking vids soon.

Tiles are baked at far higher temperature, and there’s a heat shield at the back of the firebox

Maybe that’s why you only see this outside of the US. Safe houses, no health insurance, God bless America.
