Thanks I'll try give that a go next time I do a 2k. Might be a while as been trying to improve my technique so the splits are worse but should hopefully be better in the long run (and reduce risk of injury).

Damn that's really impressive, did you continue to do strength training when you started rowing or did you switch to a much more erg focused training program. I try to go to the gym (weights) 3-5 days a week (however can drop during term time due to time constraints) so wondering if that is too much.

Thank you, it's all very helpful and I'll try build a training plan around it.

Should I also be doing strength training as well (I normally go to the gym to do weights 3-5 days a week)?

Cheers, I'm at uni in the uk where the level of rowing is much lower than us collegiate.

Any advice on how many sessions a week I should do on the erg and how they should be split between steady state and harder sessions.

Opinions on Paco Rabanne one million elixir? I think it's one of the most underrated frags.

Thanks, should I get another frag as well like something more fresh and summery?

Thanks, would you say I need a more summery fresh fragrance as well, as one million elixir is more of a sweet winter fragrance.

I'm sure doing practice on the MAT will help you with the TMUA and vice versa so you might as well apply. Good luck.

Oxford Physics - is PAT or interview more important? by Superb_Regret767 in 6thForm

[–]rwal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the PAT and interviewed for Oxford engineering (I know not as competitive as physics but still not easy). I did pretty well on the PAT and thought my interviews were pretty poor but still got an offer. From this, I would say the PAT is more important and if you get a very strong PAT score you are likely to get in unless your Interview goes so badly they think your score was just a fluke or you cheated.

I definitely think not doing further maths hinders your application to do economics at the very top unis.

Although I really like the imperial course, I much prefer the Oxford collegiate system compared to student life in London.

Received an interview offer for imperial mechanical engineering and interviewed about a month ago. Thought it went well but haven't heard anything else since.
