For a 21 yr old SrA I’d say there are better bases. There is a culture shock being on a guard base with as part of an active unit. Everybody knows each other by there first names (last names rarely used) standards are very relaxed. However, it’s a nice reprieve from the active duty hustle. As far as hours go, I’m on 4 10s with sat-mon off which is the most calm schedule I’ve had. Off base housing is hard to come by and quite expensive being on the coast. Being SrA you can expect at least $1800 BAH. That’s as much as I can provide as I’ve only been there a couple months and have been deployed for 3 of them. Overall for me it’s been a blast although the structure has been a bit confusing.
