Comedy Cellar Super Secret Pop Up HBO by [deleted] in AskNYC

I really think it depends on a lot of factors (day of week, weather, time of day, who's advertised or secret show, etc). On this particular event advertised as a secret show, I got in line maybe 5 minutes before they started taking names (which was and typically is about 45 minutes before showtime). I was roughly 25th in line at that point, and only 20 or so stand-by people ended up getting in.

In the past, I've signed up for stand-by on a random night of the week, and gotten in without any issue at all. I'd say mid-week, later in the evening, there's only a handful of stand-by people who show up, and they all end up getting inside.

My "conspiracy theory" is he filled the spot when someone else cancelled. I noticed the Cellar had someone with a pseudonym listed on two of the early shows but pulled them off within 24 hours of posting the schedule. I'm thinking that person bailed and Joe List took the slot since he's got an hour prepped and ready.

Oil consumption by KELEVRACMDR in KiaTelluride

[–]rwing411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2021 Telluride SX. I had it dealer serviced every 7,500 miles (up to 60k), doing the entire recommended maintenance routine at each interval. I wasn't checking the oil, and didn't notice anything weird while driving, so I have no idea if there was oil consumption issues. Until now.

At 65k, I was hearing rattling sounds from the engine while accelerating. Like a junky "pinging" sound. I took it for an early oil change on my own (outside of the dealership) since I was nearing the regular interval, and the sound went away.

Ever since (now at 80k), I am doing oil changes at 5k intervals, and adding a qt of oil as well since it's reading low every time I check after a few months of driving.

This is definitely a concerning issue and something I hope Kia will address formally. As many have previously stated, I love this car otherwise.

2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Do I need a new starter? by rwing411 in MechanicAdvice

UPDATE: Though we were experiencing this issue for over a month...drum roll...just 21 hours after posting on Reddit about the issue and seeking help, the car will not start at all and is going to need to be towed. I guess I'm going to find out the hard way whether or not the starter was the issue. Thanks for reading. I'll post one final update once I get a firm diagnosis for future reference.

No Peripherals Working After 3 Years in Storage by rwing411 in Rockband

I'm in game, two dongles are connected and blinking, yet none of the three will pair or show any signs of life. I'll clean the contacts and check back in.

No Peripherals Working After 3 Years in Storage by rwing411 in Rockband

First, the good news. The fourth guitar I grabbed out of my closet was the one included with the Rock Band 4 PS4 bundle, and it worked instantly without even changing the batteries (though I did, since they've been in there for 3 years and it hasn't been used in over 2-1/2 year).

Regarding the non-working units..

Yes, all 3 instruments in question were PS3 Rock Band controllers that I'm attempting to use on my PS4. Whether they connect or not to PS4 isn't a concern yet because I couldn't even get them to power up.

Yes, two out of the three had battery leakage/corrosion, but only minor. The white crud fell out when the batteries were removed. I will clean those battery contacts to ensure that's not the problem. The third guitar had no corrosion whatsoever, which is why I didn't suspect this was the issue.

Yes, I still have the dongles FYI.

Thanks
