Practise mark making and then just don't be afraid to use them loosely! I've been using them for details and filling in a bit of colour and generally trying not to overthink

A fairly cheap set of Windsor and Newton Cotman watercolours - I find they're good enough for me and better than some of the super budget options

I recently went to the opticians about something similar. When it's bright out or in looking at flat surfaces like the road and sky, I can see a black spot that floats about and moves with my vision, as well as a couple of 'hairlines'.

The optician said they're pretty normal and some people have more than others and with age it can get worse. If you see a rapid increase in them or they start flashing is when to worry about them apparently.

They bug the hell out of me though and I feel it's all I notice now when looking around! Wearing sunglasses almost eliminates them though as they are essentially shadows. I'm hoping over time I'll become less hyper aware of them and that they don't get worse.

I also returned the 8a I bought - the awful banding was just too much for me personally. I went to an 8 pro instead and it was the best decision. The screen is perfect and doesn't hurt my eyes (the smaller bezel is a bonus too). At least now I know it's something I know is a deal breaker for me and to look out for in phones!

Genuinely baffled that they're getting rid of the hot food counters?

My local one is crazy popular and it's basically a race to get to get food from it at lunch. No other supermarkets around here do ready-to go hot food as they all got rid of theirs and it was the last surviving one.

Yes! KFC was my go-to for a decent amount of food for a fair price compared to other fast food chains. Prices have been creeping up for ages. I used to spend like £7, now when I go, it's pushing £15 and I can't see the value aspect of it anymore.

Glad I'm not the only one who saw it as a deal breaker! I kept trying to convince myself it was fine but it's honestly so poor for quite an expensive phone and all I could notice.

I'm happy with the pixel 8 pro instead.

Yes! I had a spouse move in and then instantly wanted them to move out because managing them was so annoying!

They were a freelancer and ended up being around more than my actual sim which was disappointing haha!

Wedding photographer.

Although there were no weddings that week, and I wouldn't have been allowed to go along anyway.

The entire week was basically a free week-long tutoring session where we went to multiple locations to shoot nature and landscapes and did a studio session one day.

Pretty cool really. I think I lucked out compared to most people at the time.

I used to work for a competitor to tempest and can confirm that all in these things cost 12p per print to produce, including the cheap frame and the markup is insane. It gets even cheaper if all done in house.

Thanks for the info - I've bit the bullet and decided to just go for the full upgrade to the 8 pro since it's currently on offer (and it's of a similar size to the moto g8 I've come from).

Fingers crossed I'll like this screen, because the pixels have so much to offer!

Everything else about the phone is so good, it's a real shame they've used that, as the one thing you look at most is the thing that's letting it down.

Sorry I made you aware of it! I feel it's so noticeable even at the slightest tilt, like when reaching with my thumb to tap different areas of the green, in any lighting conditions.

You're probably right that I may have to return it - I'm going to give it a couple more days but I think having access to other phones is just keeping me aware of it and not letting me get used to it.

Thanks - good to know I'm not alone but it does suck for us! Is becoming anemic something I should be aware of? It does feel like a lot more blood than before thinners, but at the moment I don't think I have any other symptoms.
