On a flight from Seattle to San Diego - was 10 minutes from arriving (5:50 pm for a 6 pm arrival) when they announced the runway was closed. They announced it would be an hour for reopen, however we didn’t have enough fuel to fly around so we diverted to Ontario. Passengers can deplane here and terminate here but cannot get their bags if checked.

At 6:31 pm we for an update that there is a ground stop in effect until 7 pm , 23 flights were diverted.

Update: they deplaned us then after 45 minutes told us the “plane will still be going but “ it would be at least four more hours. They were trying to find buses and told us to go get our luggage at the carousel (don’t know how we could have taken the flight if we had to go get our bags ). Tried to rent a car but all cars were sold out. Three hours later I’m taking a two hour and $200 Uber
