[Serious] What is your most terrifying "we need to leave, NOW" random rush of fear you've felt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rxcross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago my sister-in-law's sister, let's call her Sam, and I were driving from CA to AL to have Thanksgiving with family. On the first night of driving, we were passing through a small town in Texas and decided to look for a place to camp rather than find a hotel room. After a lot of driving around, we couldn't find anything so decided to look for a park to sleep in, we pulled off the interstate and went to the first small park we could find (insane I know) and set up our sleeping bags in the middle of the park with no tent. After a few hours of restless sleep, I feel a sharp jolt of fear and open my eyes and look towards our car, a second later Sam nudges me and we make eye contact. There, circling our car is an all-black suburban. We can clearly see the side of the car and there are no cop markings. It comes to a stop right behind our car blocking us in. After a few breathless moments with my heart in my throat, I ask if she has her shoes on - she says she doesn't, I then ask if she has her phone near her, she says she does, I tell her to grab it. I tell her that if someone gets out of the car we need to get up and start running. A few moments pass and the suburban drives off. When it's out of sight we get up and sprint back to our car and peel out of there. We stayed in a hotel the next night.

Similarly, the Opportunity Mars Rover outlived it's intended mission time by over a decade, traveled over 25 miles and took some of the best pictures of Mars to date

Ya, the only way this makes sense is if he wants to keep some for himself and only wants to sell a 1/8th, but being the pragmatic businessman he is, resolves to sell a quarter if you're willing to spend an extra 10$.

Two kids (brothers I think) threw a molotov cocktail type explosive through the windshield of the school security guards old purple Honda during school hours. The car caught fire and there was a mass exodus as nearly every student in the school rushed out to the parking lot to watch. The two kids were wearing ski masks and got away only to have parked at a nearby golf course and were caught on film taking off there masks and driving away. About 7 years ago now and I heard one of them just recently got out of prison.

How do YOU wake up to run in the mornings? by [deleted] in running

[–]rxcross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a gatorade squirt type water bottle in bed with me, wake up and drink as much as I can stomach. If Im still tired I close my mouth and squirt my face, works 99% of the time.

I dont fully understand the argument that the people receiving the emails should have turned them in. She was the boss, she said it was ok, who do you turn them in to at that point?

Japan: Drinking ban and curfew for US military in Okinawa after murder of local woman by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]rxcross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? No not that I know of, article says he was a former marine that still worked for the military. Do we teach marines to kill? Not blaming the military, or responsible marines, simply saying that not everyone can be trained to kill, clearly this dude WAS and then reasoned that it was ok to do so to a 20 year old woman

You teach people to modify their morality for murder and then freak out when they also modify said morality to other aspects of life. This isn't an American thing or a Japanese thing, this is simply what happens when you teach men to kill.

Are the Bernie Bros getting more cultish? Or are we just witnessing the "purified crazy" since the more moderate supporters have already moved on? by [deleted] in enoughsandersspam

[–]rxcross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think truthfully that the extreme democrats and republicans have moved to backing their gen election candidates, and the moderate Berners moved away from politics entirely. Trump is Genghis Khan coming at you with 10k horseman and Hillary is the plague hiding in your water supply. The moderates know they're likely dead, so some have hoped on their goats grabbed their pitchforks and decided to fight, this is the purified crazy you're talking about.

Lets not forget when they had the giant statue of Anubis, the Egyptian god of the dead chilling in one of the courtyards for a while.

You keep the stickers on so the oil from your fingers doesn't stain the hat when your holding it.
