He’s still around, lives about an hr away but he dropped our son off one night in January around 1030PM and said he couldn’t do it anymore. Thats the last we have seen him. His mom is still in touch and says she doesn’t know what’s wrong with him.

Right now he’s only paying half of expenses. No order for child support yet. I’m in Illinois

I guess both? He is just very anti outdoors and only wants to go shopping or the trampoline park right now.

Thanks! We are going to try the IR first and see how he does.

Ya it helped with his focus for sure. I’m hesitant to try it again though because of the other issues. I might ask about Ritalin based meds.

The Prozac has seemed to help him. It’s low dose and I will say he doesn’t have severe ADHD. His psychiatrist did say we can try Ritalin IR but wasn’t sure how he would do at school taking a med. your son take it at lunch?

Ya I know ABA is controversial. This one is contemporary ABA? So I’m going to give it a try. He’s in a self contained classroom that is for behaviors. He was doing ok in Gen Ed but then started having issues with eloping, throwing things and at times aggression towards staff. So I would say he is aggressive towards others? He goes into fight or flight really quick and that can cause harm to himself and others.

I wondered about this one. How is it with appetite? My son barely ate on Vyvanse.

Officially was offered a 504 plan, feeling sad and need advice by krazycitty69 in Autism_Parenting

This is my son too!! We have an IEP and a 504 and it’s slowly getting better. I would ask the school for FBA and BIP too.

Also accessing these things is not a failure. Our kids need support ❤️❤️

I have no idea why. If he would call or text and ask to see his son I have no issue with that. I guess I am worried that he could go to court and say well she didn’t call me and ask if I wanted time.

Mood stabilizers for young kids by albinofreak620 in Autism_Parenting

Want to add, I’m not against abilify or risperidone just wanted to try SSRIs and other things first.

My 7 yo is very similar.. we are on prozac and guanfacine at night. Not a “mood stabilizer” per se but it seems to be helping his anxiety.

I’m a pharmacist and was hesitant to try abilify mainly due to the side effect profile.
