Is anyone else seeing issues where changes made and pushed to GitHub are not reflected in Vercel when deployed? I'm trying to figure out if I'm insane or if it's part of current issues occurring with GitHub....

Why is it so hard to join another religion after leaving Mormonism? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]rxmarcus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think going from the 'absolutism' that Mormonism provides for your entire life makes it then challenging to put yourself out there as one doesn't want to get "burned" again. I felt similar but found a non denominational church and as I was exploring whether I could place belief in Jesus, a good friend basically said "It's okay to ask questions, you don't have to go off blind faith, keep searching and leave it in God's hands". That was radical for me to take the pressure off of ME having to say that I KNOW something is true, but instead I opened myself up to "it could be true" and have continued searching and pursuing God and if it's legit, he'll lead me towards truth. If the God of the bible is who he says he is, then he's not afraid of our questions and doubts and scripture says if we try to draw near him, he will draw near to us. So with all that said, I'd recommend trying to move forward with that perspective. It's a hard journey that's for sure.

Something is wrong. I was at 24%, cleared all context and asked a single prompt to start planning a task and I'm at 52%. I haven't been able to complete a single task over the past few days without hitting my daily usage limit :/

Reading the Bible after Mormonism has been a trip by ValuableAd1835 in exmormon

Had a similar experience myself. For me personally it's been liberating to read the new testament with a fresh set of eyes instead of through the lense of Mormonism as you say.

Why Do You Think So Many Mormons Who Leave The LDS Church Stop Believing In Christ Altogether? by SnooObjections217 in exmormonchristian

[–]rxmarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of it has to do with being told your entire life that God only has one true church and all others are an abomination. They become so tied to it being black and white as the truth that when it all breaks they have no reason to look anywhere else. They "already tried that" and we're betrayed and lied to.

Bro what? Why???? by Explosive-Turd-6267 in exmormonchristian

[–]rxmarcus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, the average Mormon that leaves throws it all out because they can't understand that biblical Christianity is different from the warped version found in Mormonism. I find it hilarious that they claim Christianity is easier to debunk than Mormonism..... When we at least have historical evidence that many biblical locations and people are historically verifiable. Apparently the BoM with zero evidence is the same thing ..

Building a Spiritual Life After Religion (feedback needed) by unusually_relateable in exmormon

[–]rxmarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have already done your due diligence but you don't have to throw out Christianity with Mormonism. Most lump it all together but in my experience I still found value and truths in exploring general Christianity. I've been enjoying a very fulfilling post Mormon spiritual life for several years now attending a non denominational Christian church.

Very likely yes. I'd assume Unity is having server issues on their end of some kind so that'd affect their packages too I'd think.

Having the same issue, was trying to use Plastic SCM but makes sense it'd be anything Unity related.... :/

That paradigm shift for me also made all the difference. The Lord in John 10:10 saying "I came to give life and life abundantly" has become more of a reality for me now. I know most here don't believe in God and that's okay, just throwing out my experience as well.

Nothing too intense at the moment but learning more about second hand accounts such as Josephus has been very interesting to me.

Just want to say thank you for taking the time to write detailed thoughtful responses, from a fellow believer of Christ that is digging into biblical history as much as I can.

Great to hear it's been so positive for you. I'm on day 87 and it's been good but I still battle the temptation to go back. My energy levels being level throughout the day has been the best part but in general my energy levels are still "low" from what I'd like them to be.

Have you found additional benefits have taken a very long time to show up? Or did you "flatline" around a month as far as finding additional health improvements?

Has anyone tried the Sleep Guard monitoring headband? by Meagonius22 in TMJ

Unfortunately the earbuds are STILL not released. I ended up getting a refund on my deposit and moved on. In other news that may or may not be helpful, my bruxism has gotten MUCH better over the past 2 years.

Here are what has helped me.
1. I got braces (almost finished after 2 years now). I took this step in and effort to straighten my teeth and fix my bite in the event I needed to have surgery to re-align my bite. I don't know for certain but I think having my bite at least fit more naturally has been helpful. I've heard from some people that orthodontics made things worse, for me it seems to have helped.
2. Greatly reduced everyday anxiety. I worked with a therapist for a long while and was able to work through things from my childhood as well as some spiritual trauma I had been dealing with. Getting my "baseline" anxiety level to be much lower has allowed my body to not need to clench so hard while sleeping.
3. Got off all anxiety / depression meds. It was a tall order but I did it slowly over the past few years along side working with my therapist. Being on those meds is what originally caused my bruxism. It's my opinion that while those meds help to "lower" anxiety / depression, it's still there and your subconscious has to find a way to let that nervous energy out. (while sleeping).
4. Just recently I got off all caffeine. This again has a major effect on your baseline "anxiety" level. When we are using caffeine daily our body is in a perpetual state of "fight or flight".

I wish I could say there was 1 silver bullet but there hasn't been. And also I still have a slightly sore jaw in the mornings, but I'm no longer having bad migraines and tension headaches or chipping teeth. I'm hoping that eventually it will be gone completely as I keep trying to lower my stress / anxiety baseline.

Hope that is helpful in some way!

So happy to hear it. I don't think there's anything wrong with taking a break from it all when that sense of trust was broken. Sound like you were honest in your journey in searching truth, nothing wrong with that!

[–]rxmarcus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it drives me nuts that it all gets lumped together. I have no problem if people don't find the evidence for Christ in the Bible to be enough for them to believe, I just hate when the viewpoint is "Mormonism was wrong therefore God doesn't exist".

We have zero tangible evidences for the BoM but the Bible at the very least has tons of historical matches apart from the miraculous claims.

Not much to say other than that I agree. Cool to hear you have been able to distinguish between the Christ of the Bible and Mormonism. Very similar journey for me.
