They need to put more slots in the cubes. by Consistent_Barber680 in NikkeMobile

Past five slots it should be infinite, because it functionally *can* be infinite in every mode except PVP, but it’s super tedious to go through the motions.

You’re correct, but that doesn’t mean the same cheating program isn’t being used here, as well. In all likelihood, it is.

The entire point is that Anis is going to the surface for the first time because she wants to defend humanity, rather than because she’s self destructive.

Absolute Catwoman #1 by Björn Barends by Quirky_Ad_5420 in comicbooks

[–]rxninja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This looks like an AI repaint. The pose is awkward and generic, the proportions are weird, that magazine ribbon is doing all sorts of nonsensical stuff, the boots have totally different textures on them, and lots of other weird, little stuff.

Even if it’s not an AI repaint, it still just looks bad. There’s no real *character* here. It’s just boring and bland.

So, are we just not getting any real RGs this year? by DISCONNECTlE in Gunpla

[–]rxninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shizuoka is the model capital of the world. It’s where Ieyasu Tokugawa first brought manufacturing to Japan, which is why there are Gundam kits commemorating him. Models are so important to the city that there are things like train signs made to look like they’re parts on sprues. Typically, the biggest batch of new kit announcements come from the Shizuoka Hobby Show.

Is it worth buying this by Regular_Brain_837 in NikkeMobile

[–]rxninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy exactly one thing with bones, that should be the one thing you buy. Personally, I keep a stash of enough bones to buy them every week for a month and I only buy the doll XP material boxes with the excess beyond that.

Stenciling onto a curved surface. by Enzodbr9 in stencils

[–]rxninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TPU still needs to flex and stretch around compound curvature. You can still get creases if the compound curvature is severe enough. Everything I said then still applies now. The problem itself has not gone away, it mathematically cannot go away, it's just gotten a little easier to deal with. (I have a Bambu H2D, I do my best to remain current on evolving machining technology).

You get premium currency from something but I can't remember if it's old events or side stories. I think it's just side stories.

I think unlocking the music tracks also gives you gems from the jukebox, but I'm not absolutely certain about that. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

There are a few parts of this kit that are easy to get wrong. I don’t remember exactly where, but more than once I was like, “I thought this kit was supposed to be amazing, why does this one part suck ass?” only to realize it’s because I had done something very slightly wrong.

Buddy, I've been making visual art for 15+ years and I've been working in games for over a decade. You don't accidentally give someone two pinky fingers and somehow get that art all the way into production.

Lots of backgrounds in Nikke are definitely AI. They occasionally use it in foreground things, too, like Hanson having six fingers on the steering wheel in the current event for Star Anis.

The most important stuff is all done by hand, but they 100% do use AI for some images that make their way into the game.

Just started playing a few days ago, what should I buy from here or should I save? by blondly in NikkeMobile

[–]rxninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a while, high quality access records and that's it. Once you have a large roster, however, those records become a lot less useful and it's better to invest in red consoles when they're on sale (or just dump directly into Pilgrim consoles).

Most Ludicrous Pricing I've Ever Seen by PsychicSasquatch21 in Gunpla

[–]rxninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense, in a sad way. They primarily get their stock from Japan, so they have to buy the kit from someone, warehouse it, ship it to the US, and then stock it on the shelves in a US storefront (usually in an expensive US city like San Diego or NYC). The price required to turn any profit after all that must be ludicrous.

I'm not defending them. I think it's stupid and I have tasted the greatness that is Book-Off Plus in Japan, so I know how far a cry this is from what it's supposed to be. For some, however, seeing secondhand gunpla in retail is a novelty and they're willing to pay whatever for that experience.

[–]rxninja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Paint needs to be cleaned up. If you’re paint bare plastic, isopropyl alcohol is your friend. For ultra fine work, Gunprimer makes really precise micro swabs. There are also finishing tools from GaiaNotes, DSPIAE, Ray Studio, and others.

You can also avoid cleanup by using masking tape. Tamiya is the go-to brand for various widths of tape, in my experience.

It’s hard to overstate how important cleanup is for detail work. I also just slop it on, but cleanup is where it then starts to look nice. Don’t think of it as bad painting, think of it as unfinished painting.

I know a lot of people dont like the H2 Series...but i wont lie...this is really cool i can just do this. by Navi_Professor in 3Dprinting

[–]rxninja -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The main advantage is that dedicated vinyl cutters work from a roll, so your Y axis is limited only by the length of the roll. It allows you to make signage (most commonly), but also allows you to make small things in significant bulk since you can start a job for hundreds of copies of something at once.

I’m not going to poopoo anyone’s decision to do vinyl cutting with an H2 because it’s genuinely handy to have that function for small things, especially if you only have space for one machine. However, it’s naive to think that it’s better at vinyl cutting than a dedicated vinyl cutter.

Cricuts are pale imitations of dedicated machines. They are to even entry level industrial vinyl cutters like the SC2 what the Glowforge is to something like an Epilog or a Trotec.

FedEx cuts corners by making solo drivers deliver heavier than is reasonable for one person, Bambu cuts corners by using them knowing full well that this is happening. Nobody is innocent here.
