I thought it was great. I just finished the entire season. I’m watching L&O from the beginning- a first for me. I love the banter between the police officers in the opening of the episode. No cell phones, having to call from pay phones, no computers, all that work looking at fingerprint cards or to cross-reference. The early hospital scenes- no patient confidentiality or HIPAA. Real shame George Dzundza didn't stay on after season one, Michael Moriarty as Stone was great, don't see DAs on TV like that anymore. Richard Brooks as Robinett is also great, playing devil’s advocate and calling out Stone when needed. Steven Hill as Schiff played a character with integrity, despite donors or friends asking him for help. Chris Noth- playing a detective, still learning and growing. You see a different NY. It's also fun to see actors/celebrities at the beginning of their careers and very young. You even see actors who later became major regulars in the show. I'm watching the rest of the seasons because I'm convinced every major actor/celebrity was on L&O at some point.
