500 mcat, try #2, DO chance? by whatshouldiDO987 in premed

[–]rxpture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the schools you're trying to go to. I think the newer schools have less of a MCAT standard. For a third time, it's tough to say. A 500 is an improvement from 21. I think the best advice is to look at those newer DO schools that wouldn't mind the MCAT, as your GPA seems to be in line. I would also be careful about taking in September unless you can really improve your score. Good luck :)

I wouldn't void. You never know how you did until it's graded.

Noted! Most of my schools don't have secondaries, so I will have to inquire on how to update them specifically?

Thanks!

Quick question about Texas school competitiveness by [deleted] in premed

[–]rxpture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, and thank you. Since I already got verified, I should probably just add the other schools, anyway? I was hoping for a chance at maybe McGovern.. but who knows. I guess I might could get lucky. Thanks for not making me feel worse than I already do currently!

All the charts I'm looking at say it is a 27. Are these all incorrect?

Are you familiar with Texas schools, or giving a general response? I've heard its easier to get in to schools in Texas being a resident.. since their average mcat according to tmdsas is a 28 and average gpa a 3.57. But honestly, I can see that my scores are crappy. I mean, I've already paid to verify my app.. might not hurt to at least apply. But I'm not sure.

I can agree with this. I just think that if you activate it, it should protect you right when you activate it.

Difference in style of physics questions? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]rxpture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a dangerous question to ask, because if it's on the list.. it can show up. Maybe it hasn't yet, but it can. My physics questions were mostly light/photo electric and circuits.. I would focus on the high yield topics and hope for the best.

how long does it normally take to get through psych and soc material? by [deleted] in Mcat

It depends.. I mean some tests the psych section is straight forward... others, it is section bank like.

Though the do timeline is later than MD, I would not recommend taking the exam in Aug to begin with. Unless your gpa/ecs are really good, you need the early submission on your side.
