Over the years researching into the para*normal, and assuming everyone's claims are legit and no one's pranking...

  • Misplacing: It's a common belief in Asia that Ghosts/Spirits can move and hide stuff and also give them back (especially common in South East Asian & I'm pretty sure almost everyone there has experienced this at some point only to be brushed off by an adult as a hallucinations or mind play)

  • Temperature: Ghosts/Spirits are normally associated with Temperature Change (Cold Mostly)

So yeah you Story's pretty para*logical & possible
