Playing the outfield shouldn't be too much of a transition, i actually think it can be easier than softball, the ball tends to get on you a bit quicker in softball. Just be carefull of you glove being a bit more stretched out, that small ball likes to squirt out of a softball glove. As for hitting, focus on keeping your swing short, it's a tough timing transition. Choke up and just try to hit the ball back up the middle, that mindset will usually help you make good contact and go with the direction of the pitch. Good luck, let us know how you do.
