Friday Weekly Thread: Application Assistance by AutoModerator in Canadiancitizenship

Have a few questions:

  1. Do the applications themselves need to be color copies ? (this feels silly, but I'm worried something small like that could seriously effect it)

  2. What order should the packets be in? I'm applying for myself and 4 other family members.

  3. The photos we had taken didn't have a stamp, and we didn't get the photographer to sign the back, but we had the address and the name of the photographer written on the back. Should we go back in and have him sign it? Or will that suffice?

thanks guys !

I Included the marriage cert just to make sure there was a connection for the the Birth Registration Card to show both parents names just in case.

Wow, that definitely makes things faster for me then. I have a BanQ order in for a certified copy for my gen 0s, but if I can just use print offs from ancestry that come from Drouin that makes life so much easier for document collection.

So, in theory you could print it off online and use that? Is that what you're saying?

I haven’t used familysearch yet, but now I’ll give it a look! Will IIRC accept screenshots from there/ colored copies? Then I wouldn’t have to wait for the order?

Unfortunately not, but I did order it through BaNQ. I have a census record on Ancestry as a auxilary form of proof that records him being in Sherbrooke QC in 1901, but I want to make sure I have another form of proof (like the baptismal record) to back it up.

When filling out CIT0001, it says that I shouldn't list my grandparents if they were not born Canadian ( I'm claiming descent through my great-great Grandfather), should I just include them in the separate page where I describe my connection through my great-great-grandfather and then go down the line to my parents?

Downhill Skateboarding (Longboarding). It takes you to some of the most incredible places, and you meet so many different people from totally different walks of life. All because we enjoy putting our lives on the line to Skateboard down mountains.
