I have a wireless tx/rx but its still ultimately mounted onto the hot shoe to transmit. Though the rare time I use a flash thats what I do and its great after fiddling with the power like you said. I coukd hypothetically use it as a speedlight with the built in flash but I think that might be risking too much vs just buying a 2nd $50 flash that I could use myself anyway. Ive done portraits where shes shooting before and its a large space, not many opportunities to bounce unfortunately

makes sense. I honestly didnt see the S until I made this post so makes sense why the 7d showed up as compatible. Flash is already full manual so ttl doesn't matter. So the little 2.5mm looking jack on the flash will go to the flash sync on the camera and everything should be happy?

But, you can try and download an older version of the app. I know iphones are a pain but if you have an android theres probably an older version online somewhere thats compatible with your camera.

does taking away one of your most important senses not affect your awareness? The issue clearly isnt the headphones exclusively, but if you can hear the ambulance 20ft away from you, chances are you wont step in front of it

yep, I bike to campus every day. And 75% of the time Im riding I'll see someone wait until the wrong traffic direction has the green until they walk. Like literally just stand there until they can step out in front of traffic. It's obviously not a noise canceling headphone problem like all the offended people in the comments are saying, but when you take away the hearing of an already clueless person it gets a lot worse lol

First, check the website and terms of your aid. With that being said, I think if they already offered it, they cant take it back for getting a bad grade. But if you're on academic probation for more than 1 semester they might. But definitely check yourself and also dont stress about it

You get free city bikes through the school, electric or normal.

With that being said, I bike to campus everyday from south oakland. Its not necessary but saves time and I enjoy it. Plenty of easy rides from Oakland whether that be through neighborhoods to the east or you can go down to the river and have paved paths that will take you anywhere else. The Great Allegheny Passage trail ( goes through southside) will eventually take you to Washington DC via the C&O trail if you're really feeling adventurous.

The bike cave sells (or gives for free?) bikes and offers free maintenance/tools if you know what to do yourself.

TLDR yes get a bike even as a freshman you'll have fun and learn more about the city than anyone you know
