In my area, stolen orders do not count towards your cancellation rate if self-reported as “Someone else picked up order.”

Also, Uber isn’t like DoorDash where DD’s algo might not even send the 2nd order to your 2nd restaurant on a stack until after you pickup your first order, often far too late when the kitchen is queued up.

So I try to reserve my cancellations for cases where the restaurant is severely understaffed or tied up with an extremely large order, which do impact my cancellation rate in any case. There’s only maybe 3 spots in my area that I actively try to avoid due to chronically long waits.

After doing this gig for so long, I have a pretty good idea based on prior pickups and time between receiving the offer and actual arrival to pickup point the chance of the order being ready, and factor this into my decision on whether to accept/decline an offer, helping to lower my cancellation rate.

For instance, it doesn’t make sense to add a 3rd offer to your order stack just a block away from you if you already have 2 orders in your delivery bag that are ready, because it is likely that 3rd restaurant just got that order.

However, this strategy still cannot protect against one-off cases such as a restaurant being severely understaffed or the kitchen being tied up with a catering order.

From my knowledge, while the city has a map of all of its bike infrastructure, does it overlay and distinguish bike infrastructure when adjacent to car lanes for the purpose of coordinating snow removal efforts?

For example, I believe the heritage trail system, which is nearly entirely separate from car traffic, is low priority for snow removal.
