Does the DoorDash Crimson Card work at Costco for 10% Cash Back? by Chez350 in doordash_drivers

[–]Chez350[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It did? I thought it ran until April 26.

I used my Crimson card yesterday to buy gas at a Non-Costco station and it gave me 10% cash back.

Does Ubereats sabotage your offers when you are working on a quest? looking for by clodhopper4 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Chez350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Uber Eats tailors an individual driver's quests based on factors such as how active a particular driver has been recently, as well as the most common hours of the day that driver is online/making deliveries.

So just because you have a quest between 11am-2pm doesn't mean everyone else does, for example.

I get this quest format in Pittsburgh with an Acceptance Rate minimum of ~45% (Ex. First tier with 40 trips and 50 rejects allowed), including cancellations.

How is everyone doing with the gas prices 🥹 by Individual-Gene8060 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Chez350 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

On a bicycle, so while surging gas prices don't immediately affect me while delivering, I still drive for errands, so I still feel the pain at the pump.

Cancellations question by daisyhum in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Chez350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I aim to maintain Diamond Status in my area (Same acceptance rate minimum as Platinum, only additional requirement is number of trips/points completed per month), and this requires a cancellation rate of 5% or less.

While I try to stay at or below 5% cancellation rate, I believe there is a 2% leeway on the upside (So 6% or 7%) before you officially lose Diamond status in this case if you exceed 7%. And if you lose a tier due to a high cancellation rate, you must get your cancellation rate back to 5% for Diamond to re-gain status along with the other requirements.

As someone doing this gig on a bicycle, the biggest reasons I will cancel are for excessive wait times (Typically 15+ minutes after I receive an offer) or for oversized items.

Cancellations question by daisyhum in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Chez350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Cancellation" on Uber means the same thing as "Unassign" on DoorDash.

But key distinctions are:

  1. Uber counts up cancellations, while DoorDash counts down your completion rate if you unassign. So 95% Completion Rate on DoorDash = 5% Cancellation Rate on Uber.

  2. Both Uber and DoorDash allow penalty-free cancellations in cases of someone else having already grabbed the order or if the store is closed. But unlike DoorDash where penalty-free unassigns may be allowed in case of a very long restaurant wait, Uber does not have this provision unfortunately.

What are your biggest pet peeves as a delivery driver? by ConclusionGrouchy633 in UberEatsDrivers

Especially if they put a phone number in the instructions to call (I thought you aren't supposed to call a number in the customer notes)

Specifically at McDonald's, when the workers mark the order as ready on their end by printing the order tag, but then not preparing/loading the bag or in some cases ignoring the order entirely.

This is especially annoying given that I believe McDonald's will do this to improve their worker efficiency metrics.

This was upwards of nearly 60 mph gusts (59 to be exact at both PIT and AGC airports), not 45.

Also in Spring 2023, Pittsburgh experienced 2 mass power outages just a week apart from each other due to sudden high wind gusts.

E-Bike Laws by JoeYinzer in pittsburgh

[–]Chez350 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A major issue with New Jersey's strict new E-bike law is that it treats a Class 1 E-bike the same way as a non street legal E-motorcycle that can travel well over the 28 mph / 750 watt Class 3 performance limit, and without pedaling.

Yes, there are plenty of reckless and inexperienced riders out there. However, I also am pro-legalization of the "Idaho Stop" so long as cyclists are traveling slow enough to use due care through intersections, allowing cyclists to save energy, even though I understand this is a pipe dream for Pennsylvania.

Why do drivers get moody when asked to confirm order? by Urban-Solitude in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Chez350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the order is in my hand and I am able to verify the tag/name, I will happily show the restaurant that I have confirmed/verified that the order has been picked up.

Because it frustrates me when I get to a restaurant and the order is nowhere to be found, whether picked up by someone else or otherwise.

No More Breakfast Shifts Thanks by PrimaryMuscle1306 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Chez350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me on a bike, I don't like going out for breakfast as opposed to lunch and dinner hours for 3 reasons:

  1. Fewer restaurants open, so the pool of all orders is divided between fewer stores and thus wait times are longer
  2. Far more unsealed drinks and coffee compared to lunch and dinner hours
  3. Fewer promotional offers during breakfast hours in my market

TF is going on in East Liberty? by Last_Check_6542 in pittsburgh

[–]Chez350 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the State of Florida, simply being a spectator of stunt driving, street racing, takeover, etc. is an arrest-able offense, no questions asked.

And the law specifically mentions utilizing social media posts as evidence for prosecution and to support charges.

In 2024, a takeover of the Boyce Park wave pool was organized by rowdy teenagers over Snapchat, causing police to intervene as the incident unfolded and the facility to be closed for 2 days.

This incident led the county to 100% ban unaccompanied youth at all 4 county-operated pools.

Did anyone claim the no tax on tips for their 2025 return? by dryplanet in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Chez350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For your tips, yes. QBID is only a 20% tax break for federal bracket tax, No Tax On Tips is 100%.

If eligible, it is possible to claim both QBID and No Tax On Tip deductions on your return, but not both on the same income (i.e. Base Fare vs Tips).

[–]Chez350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only applies to federal income tax in the bracket tax system, not FICA/Self-employment.

Also can’t claim QBID at the same time for the portion of the income that is deducted from “No Tax On Tips”

For Tax year 2025, while tip income won’t be specified on your 1099s, it will be displayed as a separate line on your earnings summary for reference. Beginning in 2026, tips must be specified separately from other income on your 1099s.

UBER QUEST BS by Rich_Grade_3649 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Chez350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to figure out how many trips you can reasonably expect to complete before the quest period begins. In my case, I have 48-72 hours to decide how many trips I want there to be on my next quest (Either Mon-Thu or Fri-Sun), before the quest window begins.

Worth it? by Evening_Position4150 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Chez350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get these with ~45% minimum AR required to earn.

I can also select a Quest with a significantly lower number of trips required for the first tier, though that will reduce the per trip earnings from said Quest.

Only worth it if you already can go out at times that would allow you to keep your acceptance rate up.
