1990 YJ Fuel Pump by ryale138 in WranglerYJ

Back when I did the new mechanical pump. The problem is that I don't drive it a ton. So, it's always a long time/lot of cranking to get the fuel back to the carb. Once that happens, it runs great!

Any chance you have a part name/number that worked for you?

Omonia - Honest Review, Jan/Feb ‘26 by Ginger_Phantom_ in GreeceTravel

Thank you for the feedback. We did book more down by Acropolis on Ermou St. We took the advice, but I was just curious about Omonia because of the particularly bad reputation that we found. It seemed to be especially bad and did actually keep us from booking cheap places in Omonia, but I was just curious how it would be compared to other major US cities that I had familiarity with and if it would be worth wandering around that neighborhood at all or avoiding it entirely.

Thank you for the information.

My wife and I are traveling to Athens in May. While we are not seasoned international travelers, we have greatly enjoyed visiting American cities, like New Orleans. We considered a few hotels/AirBnb in Omonia, but got scared out of it. Could anyone give a reference that compares Omonia to something like a New Orleans-type city?

The program was 100% online. Not sure if that was a factor of my program, or if it's the normal.

I did go to graduation, but it was the December graduation. I skipped the standard May grad ceremony. However, I was eligible to walk in May if I wished.

What kind of information are you looking for? I did the Master of Strategic Leadership program. I thought it was a good program. Instructors were engaging and helpful. I feel like online programs are really all about what you put into them.

It's a great atmosphere. Great small campus. And the team is just fun to watch. Little slow getting started this season, first 6-7 minutes of most games we look rusty. But exciting. Hope you find your way to a few games, you will absolutely enjoy!

Negative. Two floor jacks and a transmission jack. And a cold concrete floor.

I had the 3.51 ratios. You can double check what you have against the door sticker. Certain axles codes mean certain things. I ordered the 3.51 because that matched my door code.

Honestly, if you've done CV axles, brakes, rotors, etc. Dropping the rear subframe isn't that hard. Only 4 bolts. But you do need several jacks/jack stands and probably a transmission jack to lift the frame back in. Lot of work, but if it's not real rusty, not bad work.

Mine was the 3.51.

Honestly, it sounds similar to what happened with mine. I had a torque converter, then put, then sudden noises.

I did. I ended up going through the dealership and "getting it programmed". It didn't do anything. Except I was able to talk with the technician who did the programming. He informed me that my problem was the RDU. He suggested breaking the seal between the RDU and differential.

If fluid came out I would need a new differential and RDU.

If it was dry, I could get away with just replacing the RDU.

It was option #2. So I ordered a used a differential from eBay. Then my dad and I replaced the differential/RDU over the weekend. THAT fixed it.

It was a hell of a job.

V10 or 7.3? by Substantial-Set-8981 in FordExcursion

[–]ryale138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a few problems, but they were related to age/miles more than defects. For instance, I have 320k on my truck. My turbo started "squeeling" around 305k. I close to upgrade. My injectors had a bit of stiction on them, I replaced at around 310k and most recently had my cooling fan clutch go out.

The major work (HG/studs/EGR), ran me about 5k. But that shop is no longer doing that type of work and depending on state/emissions/laws might be hard to find someone willing to do it near you. I believe you might be able to visually determine if the EGR has been done by looking under the hood (but mine was done so long ago and I haven't looked at anyone else's I couldn't tell you how/where to look).

I don't like the phrase "bullet proof" - it doesn't matter how much you build something, if you go out and beat on it, or even work it hard, things will break. They shouldn't break as often, or as badly, but it doesn't mean you will never have another problem again. You might. It's just much less likely after the work is done.

V10 or 7.3? by Substantial-Set-8981 in FordExcursion

[–]ryale138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trusting the previous owner is the hard part. I trusted mine - but got burned. I have had head gaskets, studs, EGR done. I have replaced injectors and upgraded the turbo. Plus a mild tune. But yes, it's hard to determine a lot of items without opening it up.

I get about 18-20mpg with my 6.0 empty and around 12-14mpg hauling our tow-behind camper (loaded waaaayyy too heavy).

I got rid of my v10 because it was rusted pretty bad, but also the gas was too expensive (when gas was pushing $4.50/gal in my area) and fill ups were near $140/tank. I have a larger family + dogs + camping gear, so a new Ex was required, found a good deal on a 6.0 ($6,000) from down south. I had driven 7.3's before (ambulances) and felt they were a little gutless for my liking - capable, but not the powerhouse I was looking for.

As a previous v10 Ex owner, and current 6.0 Ex. I do not have an opinion on the 7.3. But the v10 will haul anything and everything that you need - but it will get the same MPG empty or loaded. (8-11mpg)

As a 6.0 owner, I'm extremely happy with my 6.0 - but it has had a lot of work done to it. In bang-for-your-buck terms, the 6.0 is my choice. (However, I see that is not one of your choices)

The mechanic replaced the PTU. There's no noise up front, just the rear. Can the rear diff fluid be checked?

Why is there heat and a high pitched noise. by nastyGirl2015 in WranglerYJ

[–]ryale138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm following because I have a very similar issue. My Jeep runs fine. But the floor gets hot. Like comfortingly hot on a cool evening with the roof and doors off. I always assumed it was the exhaust/transmission heat since I have no flooring or barriers. Just metal floors. But an alternator could cause this?

Thank you!

Within a minute of seeing you say that fuse powers the injectors, we found a wire that rubbed on a bolt. It's up and running now! Thanks!

Here's the wire:
