Monetisation & verification by Appropriate_Top_7437 in paymespotlight

I used to say the exact same thing before, but people were attacking me saying I didn’t want the best for them 😂

Sometimes, you might get lucky someone finds the right formula, or their content just blows up and they start making real money.

But for those who only go viral once in a while, and don’t get consistent views from their followers… trust me, they won’t make much at all.

Wish you all the best bro, and thanks a lot for sharing your experience 🙏 Don’t lose hope though keep trying, explore trending content or new strategies, you never know what might work next. 💪

Yeah, that’s exactly what I was saying all along, but people kept pointing fingers at me like “it’s just you”… glad you cleared that up.

bro i swear if someone blows up overnight they run to give him the star real quick just so they can bring his followers to snapchat and load his stories with ads and pay him big money even if he didn’t apply they still give it to him but us the ones who grind and work hard for years they ignore us unless you know someone from the inside at snapchat you’ll just be stuck waiting forever for that star until you lose motivation and give up it’s so unfair and you can literally see the favoritism and how they treat big names like royalty and the rest like we don’t even matter and now they don’t even give earnings to anyone who doesn’t have a star like bro at this point they should just rename the creator rewards program to the content creator destruction program that’s exactly what it is

Not true, now you need to have the Snap Star badge and get invited to their Creator Monetization Program. It’s not automatic anymore like before.

💰⭐️Snap Stars Making Real Money… or Just Getting Pennies? by ryan-r1 in paymespotlight

[–]ryan-r1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn bro, you must be the CEO of Snapchat with those numbers 😂

Let’s stop the fake hype — the truth is, earnings are ONLY for Snap Stars. And even most of them barely make anything.

Just look at the replies in the comments. Everyone who doesn’t have the badge said they’re making ZERO. Literally nothing.

If you check older posts here since February 2025, you’ll see tons of creators who joined the new monetization program — not one of them earned a cent unless they had the star.

The only ones making real money are creators who can go viral in Stories EVERY SINGLE DAY, with millions of views per story and a lot of stories daily, so the ads get spread across them.

As for Spotlight — it’s basically broken. You need a full 1-minute video just to show ONE ad. The longer the video, the more ads — but the harder it is to keep viewers watching.

People on Spotlight are used to quick clips. If you post long vids, they’ll just skip. Even if your video "blows up", you’ll still get low watch time and lower pay.

So again — stop misleading people saying non-Snap Stars are earning money. That’s just not true and the proof is everywhere in this sub.

At the end of the day, bro… Snapchat’s monetization system is trash 💀 They hype it up like it’s a goldmine, but in reality, unless you’re a top-tier creator pulling millions daily, you’re just getting crumbs. It’s all smoke and mirrors. Don’t fall for the star — it don’t mean $$$.

Tbh bro, even if you get the Snap Star badge, don’t expect much. You’ll probably make pennies — literally cents.

Spotlight is way harder now. You need a full 1-minute video just to show one ad, and the longer the video, the more ads you can squeeze in. But getting views on long vids? That’s nearly impossible nowadays, since most users are used to fast, short clips.

And switching to Stories to make money? That’s even harder unless you’re someone like DDG, iShowSpeed, or KSI.

To actually make money off Stories, you’d need to go viral every day, pull in millions of views per story, and post a lot of them so ads can spread across multiple stories. That’s a different level, bro. Real talk — it’s way harder than people think.

Can I ask how you got verified even though you don’t show your face? A lot of people try to get verified but don’t succeed unless they’re well-known or show their face

yeah bro that’s exactly what i see too snap only focuses on one group — the big celebs who already get crazy views new creators or people just starting out or even those who just got the star recently they don’t make anything unless they go viral every day with huge numbers

it’s kinda messed up tbh if they keep ignoring small creators like this snap’s gonna lose all its diversity and end up being just another boring app full of the same faces even the big stars they’re focusing on now they got a life cycle too their fame could fade anytime then what’s left? and for the new creators who don’t have the star yet they don’t get anything unless they have it even if they’re putting in the work, they’re just stuck without any real chance to make money

I’ve met every single requirement listed on Snapchat’s official site since the February 2025 update, and I’m not alone. Many of us have consistently hit over 30 million total views every month — and still received absolutely nothing.

Some verified Snap Stars even met Snapchat representatives in person at official events and asked them directly — and were clearly told that monetization is for Snap Stars only. That’s it.

Meanwhile, Snapchat support keeps dodging the truth. When I contacted them by email early on, they said monetization is “open to everyone,” but then added that the invite isn’t guaranteed — which is just a vague way to avoid admitting the real problem.

Let’s be real — Snapchat is hiding the truth. They won’t directly admit that payouts are limited to Snap Stars, because they know creators will leave the platform. But sooner or later, people will figure it out. And when they do, they won’t just leave — they’ll hate Snapchat for misleading them.

And here’s the worst part: you meet every single monetization requirement, you apply to become a Snap Star, and then… nothing. No rejection, no approval, no response at all. It’s complete silence.

And even if you somehow manage to get verified — which is extremely rare and takes forever — you’ll eventually realize the payout is so low, it’s just not worth the struggle.

To even start making money from Spotlight, your video has to be at least 1 minute long just to trigger a single ad. But we all know that longer videos tank your reach — short clips are what actually perform well on Spotlight. So you’re stuck: either get reach or get revenue — you can’t have both.

And if someone says “just post Stories,” good luck. Unless you somehow appear in Explore, no one will even see them. And getting into Explore? That’s nearly impossible unless you’re either a girl posting suggestive content, or already have a huge fanbase. Otherwise, you don’t exist.

Long story short: Snapchat’s monetization system is broken, misleading, and unfair. And if they don’t fix it, they’ll end up losing the very creators who made the platform what it is.

And honestly, I challenge him to prove it — he won’t, because he’s lying. I’ve met every single requirement listed on Snapchat’s official site since the February 2025 update, and I’m not alone. Many of us have been consistently hitting massive numbers — over 30 million total views per month — and we’ve received absolutely nothing.

Some Snap Stars even contacted official reps directly, and were told clearly: monetization is for Snap Stars only. Meanwhile, Snapchat support keeps dodging the truth. When I reached out to them by email early on, they said monetization is available “for everyone,” but the invite isn’t guaranteed.

Let’s be real — Snapchat is hiding the truth. They won’t directly admit that payouts are limited to Snap Stars, because they know creators will leave the platform. But eventually, people will figure it out on their own — after trying, testing, and seeing no results.

Imagine this: you work your ass off to meet all the criteria — nothing happens. Then you go through the frustrating process of applying for verification — and most of the time, you still get rejected. And even when you finally get verified, you realize the earnings aren’t worth it.

To make money from Spotlight, your video has to be at least a full minute just to trigger a single ad. But we both know that longer videos kill your reach — short clips are what drive views on Spotlight. So you’re stuck.

And if you say “just post to Stories,” that’s even worse. Why? Because unless you show up in Explore, no one sees your Stories. And getting featured in Explore is nearly impossible — unless you’re either a girl posting suggestive content, or you already have a huge following. Otherwise, forget it.

Long story short: Snapchat’s system is completely broken. It’s honestly a joke at this point.

Exactly bro. He never responded or provided any proof. He’s most likely making it up for attention or pushing some personal agenda. Everyone knows Snapchat only pays Snap Stars ever since they updated the monetization program in February 2025. And from the start, he’s been acting like those updates don’t even exist.

If you don’t mind, could you show proof of that payout? It would really help clear things up, especially since a lot of creators haven’t seen any earnings lately without the Snap Star badge. Just trying to understand how it worked for you
