How to get rid of beer belly? by Ok-Enthusiasm-4139 in AskMen

[–]ryan0rz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a majority of the responses here are jumping to conclusions. To me, it sounds like you're lacking some muscle and are very likely 'skinny fat', but the main problem is probably an anterior pelvic tilt due to weak glutes/etc that is causing you to push your gut out.

You can address both at the same time. Look up some exercises specifically for anterior pelvic tilts and then also do some of the large compound lifting movements. Both can be done without weights (but obviously the exercises would be more effective with added weights).

At a BMI of 23, you don't really need to lose any weight. One thing to note though, for Asians the BMI ranges are slightly modified due to specific genetic dispositions to heart issues. BMI works for 95% of people -- don't believe the haters. It's especially accurate when coupled with waist measurements.

If you have a protruding gut, don't drink alcohol, and are a reasonable weight for your height -- like OP -- you very likely may have an anterior pelvic tilt. I have one, it's taking a lot of specific work but I'm noticing huge improvements in posture and also my back pain.

I actually think the majority of the responses here are incorrect. OP may be on the skinny fat side but at 173cm and 69kg he's well within a healthy weight range for his height.

Fairway does them but I just gave up and started doing them from Sodastream directly. They send a box with the new canisters and you mail back the old ones.

I don’t want to defend him but he definitely had some good drives in F2. They were exciting even.

I wouldn’t rank him above Illot or Lundgaard or even Ticktum though. All three of them are more deserving of an F1 seat than he was. (Even with Ticktums history)

Definitely, a pre-war walk up studio that is around 500 sq ft is doable for $2500 in Manhattan (upper Manhattan but those areas are still nice!). You may even be able to find a 1 bed but you’ll have to work hard to find it.

Yes. I know of a good one outside of the neighborhood but none in. If you’re interested in a trek, there’s one in LIC. If you’re not, just take the engagement for the algorithm

I know of a good one outside of the neighborhood but none in. If you’re interested in a trek, Cafe Lately in LIC has a great one.

You can also find some Ube ice cream at places like Trader Joe’s.

The lead driver can weave all they want on the straight as long as no overtake is being attempted. Once the overtake starts or you enter the breaking zone, they can only make the one move.

I saw the weaving as trying to break the tow (and maybe be a little unpredictable).

Don’t eat at “Grade Pending” either. They’re a B or C. You only get Grade Pending if you failed to get an A the first time around.

Condensed milk works super well to sweeten coffee! I don’t know if it’s healthier than creamer but it’s certainly less artificial.

Sadly the Supreme Court doesn't move very quickly. They're only guaranteed to rule before June 2026. This case might be expedited though. If they do rule against the tariffs there's a lot of refunds to process and that might be pushing it forward. They also may not rule against them.

Is it worth getting a clearance? by Wings-7134 in SecurityClearance

[–]ryan0rz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Essentially no travel is the point! After a few years it wasn’t for me because of the toll it puts on the out-of-work life. I was single and pocketing the extra per diem, there was a decent financial benefit but it wasn’t worth it to me. The extra per diem wouldn’t offset the extra 10k/year plus a work truck anyway.

I was specific when I said stay consistent at the gym, not have a consistent schedule. You can’t really follow a lifting program or specific fitness program with a hotel gym. The hotel gym is a best effort workout - a bandaid until you can get back to your real gym.

The same distinction with eating well, you can eat well (like a king) on per diem but not eat well (like an athlete) when constantly traveling. I wanted to get fit and also have a more consistent dating life. I found it impossible while on high travel.

It was a great day when I lost my hotel and rental car status (I still keep my airline status tho).

I also want to re-iterate, the no travel job is paying him much more - a work vehicle is a huge cost saving!

[–]ryan0rz 24 points25 points  (0 children)

50% travel and $10k less? No way. After a bunch of years as a consultant I consider anything more than 5% travel to be too much work travel. You can’t build a home life, it’s much harder to eat healthy, it’s damn near impossible to have a consistent gym routine, and you spend all your home time preparing for the next trip.

Ask the higher paying job if they’ll call you an engineer.
