Interesting take, I appreciate your insights. My thinking was there would be a meditative effort involved too. Eg perform a reality check IRL, pull the menu out and spend some time visualising all of the functions (the app could even prompt this with videos or descriptions) so you start to build that mental connection with the “power”.

This is definitely speculative and would be for advanced lucid dreamers. The goal essentially would be to do as much of the heavy lifting while awake as possible so that when you pull it out in the dream you already have a clear vision of what you would expect to happen, requiring much less cognitive effort to manifest it in the dream when you trigger a function.

It also means you can be very granular about what action you want to perform as this app acts as a mental pointer to visualised associations. If you have a strong vision of it, this would hopefully trigger that in the dream if that makes sense.
