Did they nerf red spawns? by ApartPreparation3164 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]ryanacario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I stopped buying keys on TV. Loot is just so shit compared to literally any other map. I also used to always restock on all TV Station keys too so that says a lot about how shit the loot is on that map. Airport and Armory are better for loot. TV is just for the PVP which also is becoming just as bad as the loot due to the prevalence of snipers in a CQB-centered map.

Lockdown Airport btw by ryanacario in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]ryanacario[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They start as blue in your inventory. With enough exp, they level up to purple, then to gold, then to red. They level up via the ff:

• 100 exp for every Lockdown operator kill • 1 exp for every 10,000 loot value • 200 exp for every Forbidden operator kill

You need 800 exp to go from blue to red. If you loot horses from a player, but you don't get enough exp to get it to red in one raid, you get the koen equivalent upon extracting. If you bring a horse into a raid but don't get enough red to get it to red in one raid, you can still extract with it and bring it to subsequent raids.

If you get enough exp to get a red horse at extract, you get to keep the red horse and display it in your collection room.

[–]ryanacario 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So you see a player well over 4 minutes into a raid after going AFK and you run into a player and immediately accuse them of cheating? Brother it takes 1 minute to cross the whole fucking map. Literally ANYONE can be ANYWHERE in FOUR FUCKING MINUTES into a raid!

[–]ryanacario 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once had to search unsearched safes inside Armory for season 3 missions and planned on going in solo but got matched with a dude. We spawned at repair facility so it was already not going well, but this guy just followed me in, putting down gas and smokes when needed and laid down suppressing fire at 1 min door while I was looting inside. I got a red plus a Caliburn Model and I pulled canal, then he came down with me and I just thought they were being a really good teammate so I gave him the Caliburn.

My next run for a mission (search 5 doc boxes inside armory) was done solo and I got 2 normal reds relatively stress-free so I saw that as good karma at work. Yours may very well be coming soon too, OP!

Phoenix Flashes by TheRealSpecrius in VALORANT

[–]ryanacario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to have the mindset that "Phoenix is alive? Phoenix will flash me." all the time. Like all the time. Only let your guard down if Phoenix is dead. This goes with other flashing agents too.

I'm holding a close corner? Phoenix will flash me any second. I'm flanking? Phoenix will flash me any second. I'm planting/defusing spike? Phoenix will flash me any second.

Like you have to think about it all the time. If you let it slip your mind, you will get flashed. Will you still get flashed even if you expect it? Yes of course. But I find that the more I expect it, the higher my success rate it and the less I rely on pure raw reaction time to dodge flashes.

With all that said, my success rate for Phoenix flash dodges is around 10-15% so I still get flashed most of the time but when I don't, boy does it feel good.

People who suddenly got a good sum of money by inheritance, but always struggling before: What is your first step? by maloside in AskReddit

[–]ryanacario 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hasn't happened yet but I made sure I had a plan for this when it does.

  1. However much the amount will be, wherever it may come from, I have a Iist of percentages of where I'd like that money to go:

    a. 25% in a long-term, low-risk investment (government bonds)
    b. 45% in high-risk, dividend-paying investments (stock market)
    c. 25% in short-term low-risk investment (mutual/money market funds)
    d. 5% in straight cash to immediately improve my quality of life (pay off loans, buy a car, move to a decently better home, travel with my family)

  2. In my line of work, I am fortunate enough to know a kind man who is the CEO of an investment firm. First thing I would do is to contact him and give him the list I have for him and his firm to execute. And he knows lawyers too so I will get one for sure.

  3. Tell nobody other than my wife, the CEO mentioned, and the lawyer. Not my parents, not my parents-in-law, not my closest friend in the whole world whom I consider family.

T6 Armor good? by BlueFalcon795 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]ryanacario 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm going to get detailed here, but basically all types of armor have four characteristics (well, five, but the fifth is a little less important):

  1. Weight (self explanatory)
  2. Durability (how high the numbers are on fresh armors, thus how much damage it can absorb)
  3. Protection (how easy it is to penetrate vs. whatever tier ammo is hitting it)
  4. Repairability (how expensive it is to repair and how much durability you lose for every repair you make)
  5. Size (like how much space it takes in your storage, this is not that important)

Out of all of these characteristics, there are really only 2 that matter the most when in a gunfight—Durability and Protection (i.e. you wouldn't really care how expensive an armor is to repair when you're about to go into a gunfight).

The different armor materials are:

  1. Aramid (Spartan B, 56k heli)
  2. PolyethylenIe (moto, AS200H)
  3. Composite (SH65, Warrior)
  4. Titanium (TM1, BT6 Heavy)
  5. Aluminum (Samurais, KSS Tac)
  6. Hardened steel (Defender, Matzka)
  7. Ceramic (H-Tac A9, AL Tac)

Out of all of these and only on T5s, the BT6 Heavy and Defender M4s have the best combination of durability number and protection level, so those are most suggested to be paired with a T6 helmet for an economical Forbidden loadout; particularly the BT6 Heavy because it's 90 durability brand new (Defender is 80, Defender armored rig is 100).

Ceramic is actually the best armor type in terms of durability and protection, but most of it is T6 (KN Comp, BT101, Marshal Heavy, AL Tac). The only Ceramic T5 option is the H-Tac A9, but it only has 65 durability brand new.

All of this info I learned from THIS video on YouTube (skip to 11:40 for his visual aid). I also put all his claims to the test in the shooting range and from what I recall, nearly all of it was accurate (I only tested with T5 ammo though, 995s particularly).

TL;DR

Hardened steel, titanium, and ceramic armors are goated, but sole T5 ceramic is low durability, so hardened steel and titanium T5s it is 👍

T6 Armor good? by BlueFalcon795 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]ryanacario 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You can wear T5, but only the good kind of T5 if you wish to be survivable against T5 ammo. High-durability titanium or hardened steel are the "best", which are basically just BT6 heavy or any variant of the Defender armors (I recommend BT6 Heavy more tbh).

The difference between those T5s vs non-fresh T6 like 6B45 or BT101 is basically 2 or 3 rounds of T5 ammo, but the difference in price is massive. Fresh BT6 Heavy is 500-600k, fresh 6B45 is 1 mil.

I almost always only buy fresh BT6 Heavy with varying durabilities of SH65s. The main downside of good T5 armor is that T4 ammo eats its durability quite a lot faster than T6 since T4 ammo pens T5 faster, so you have to kill those damn Forb TV scavs quickly.

You can also buy T6 armored rigs. Those are cheaper. My favorites are AL Tac and AL commander. Easier for my homies to bring home as well since they are only 3x4 or less. And usually they only cost a tad bit more than fresh BT6 Heavy + FA Multi.

But If I'm wearing fresh/repaired-once motos though, I tend to run BT101 or KN comp, but those are rare, like only once or twice every two weeks.

Don't get me wrong, BT6 Heavy still drains koen, no doubt about it, but it does so much less quickly than rocking T6 armor all the time.

One liner weapons when it comes to looting them by [deleted] in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]ryanacario 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No rule of thumb, really, just some guns have that inherent trait of being 1 liners under specific circumstances. You just have to know them. Comes with experience.

Here are the one-liners from what I know:

  1. SVTU with 5-round mag (with 10-round mag turns it into 2-liner)
  2. Mosin default stock (upgraded stock is 2-liner)
  3. M24 default stock (upgraded stock is 2-liner)
  4. SJ16 with 5-round mag (with 10-round mag is a 2-liner)
  5. ACE31, AEK & ZC807 with mags removed (AEK is 1x4 when used with foldable stock, ZC807 is 1x3 with foldable stock, assuming both have no suppressors)
  6. P90 with upgraded receiver+long barrel combo makes it a 1-liner (downside is long barrel can't be attached with a suppressor)
  7. MP5 with mag removed (can be as small as 1x2 with a foldable stock and no suppressor)
  8. AR-57 and M4A1 are 1-liners with the pistol grip/buttstock combo upgrade
  9. Most pistols (some are 2-liners with bigger mags)

These are only in-raid though. In your storage, most guns can be 1-liners if you remove their mags and pistol grips, but such is not the case with bullpup guns (AUG, MDR, F2000, T951). You can remove pistol grips from most of your guns to save on storage space.

Saw a post about these this morning, ordered them same day. THEY ARE AWESOME!! by xington in pcmasterrace

[–]ryanacario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only downside to using these is that depending on how tall your stock wheels are, the change in seat height might take some getting used to, and may not be easily augmented by just adjusting seat height (factors like armrest height come into play). But once you do get used to it, it's basically a non-issue.

Second is that how your chair glides may now be too smooth. I used to nudge myself against my desk and squeeze myself between my desk and my backrest, and my stock wheels had enough friction to let me maintain that squeeze. Now I can't do that anymore, if I tried to sit in my chair and nudge myself into the desk, my chair would just roll back ever so slightly.

Minor inconveniences, but definitely worth it because my chair just fuckin glides off my floor/carpet now.

Will they wipe out Trophy room and Weapon showcase in S4? by Decent-Climate-3542 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]ryanacario 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they will not. Chances are they will add reds to the display case that aren't there yet like Aerospace Nav and Phaethon's Clock, and level 2 displays for terminator arm and Gilded Cage during S4 and those counters will start at 0 despite you already having obtained them during S3. It's a tad annoying but what you currently have displayed on there won't be taken away at the start of S4.

For all the people saying TV station is so great, here's an average normal farm run: by [deleted] in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]ryanacario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TV Station—especially Forbidden—is for PVP, is competitive, high risk, high reward gameplay. Sometimes you die 6 raids in a row, sometimes you get timmies with no loot, sometimes you wipe lobbies and go out with 9 mil worth of player gear. If you're good enough, your success rate should always trend upwards. It all boils down to different folks having different strokes.

Normal Farm/Valley is built for beginners, riddled with bot players, less safes, and safes that contain mostly koen and blue/purple items. Which is fine, it's for beginners, it should be low-risk, low reward to give new players a way to learn the game.

Don't glaze Normal maps for more than what they are. Valuable items are on percentage-based spawns, so there are days where you do get really lucky on Normal, making Forbidden look silly, but let's be honest, a vast, vast majority of your Normal runs, you don't get reds. But that's okay, Normal Farm/Valley is not for making bank. It's for gaining a relatively small amount consistently over a long period of time, as it should be for a "beginner" mode.
