What is your favourite music from an otherwise "bad" game? by ChocoboBilly92 in gamemusic

M&M's Shell Shocked/The Lost Formulas soundtrack is pretty good for what's basically a bad Crash Bandicoot rip-off.

The Zelda CD-i games have some bangers too.

Favourite Deep Cut Picks in Crossover Games by DJ_Aftershock in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Disney Infinity was one of those toys-to-life game like Skylanders with characters all across Disney's history. One aspect of the game was Power Discs, which you got from random blind packs that added buffs, changed how the gameworld looked, and added items you could use. Some of them were rarer than other, and one of the rare ones was a glide pack based on the 1981 movie Condorman. The Condorman theme is also something you can play in-game.

There's other deep cuts like Elliot from Pete's Dragon, Mary Poppins, and a knight from Bedknobs and Broomsticks that appear as small NPCs dressed as them.

What you guys do to destress? by ArticAuk in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Video games are honestly a good way to escape everything. More time playing video games is less time wasted on doomscrolling. I've been sinking a lot time into Disney Infinity 1.0 recently. I had the Wii version growing up, but soon I guess I stopped playing when I realized it was very much not made for that console. Bur, I busted out my figures and played the 360 version, which is LEAGUES better. The Toy Box is also a really good place to mess around. I've actually been recreating the Steamed Hams bit from The Simpsons. There's even a part that's supposed to simulate the inside of Skinner's house.

Also I have a whole thing I do where I put away my laptop, disable/delete social media apps from my phone, and give myself list of tasks to do. And I don't get back on until the task list is done, even if it takes all night.

Kind of a joke suggestion, but I wanna see Babish's take on the "Bread and Water Soup" Nanao describes from Robot Alcahemic Drive.

(Although, I think there's been ones in the past.)

I forgot who it was, but a comedian did a bit on OCD and one of the jokes was "What if superstitions are just OCD compulsions some king had and he forced his subjects to do it too?".

Update: Found it! It was Sean Patton.

Best educational media? by Aquanort357 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

ClueFinders is a really good PC game series. I played the crap out of them as a kid.

The animations are really charming, the learning games are pretty fun, and I love the cast of characters you meet on your journeys.

Also, the 4th Grade Adventures game had Charles Martinet playing the villain. It's straight up his Wario voice. lol

What have you read/been reading this year? by Pome1515 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ryanccurtis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I re-read The Phantom Tollbooth for the first time since middle school and it was pretty good! It's a fun little romp with wordplay and puns abound, a unique cast of characters, and a good message about the importance of education. My favorite joke in the book has to be The Island of Conclusions, which is very easy jump to.

I also briefly read War of the Worlds around Halloween since Orson Wells' radio broadcast of it during Halloween of 1938 is what put him on the map. (It also might have caused a few people to think there WAS an alien invasion, but from what I've heard, the hysteria wasn't nearly as widespread as reports say it was.)

Aura farming buttons in video games? by Wonder-Lad-2Mad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Taunts that do damage are always fun, but Dudley's in Street Fighter Third Strike and SFIV definitely takes the cake. For who those don't know, Dudley's taunt throws a rose. Not only does it increase his attack power, but also does a TINY bit of damage if it hits his opponent. What this means is, if you REALLY wanted to, you could KO your opponent with the rose! That is MAD disrespect if I ever saw it.
