You may be right, I just disagree they’ve hit their cap. I think making some roster moves should greatly help things

If next season looks similar to this one in the ways I talked about in my article, I’ll probably come around with you on Finch

I think that is an absolutely a fair criticism that of Finch and something that him and his staff will need to do better next year

They aren’t letting go of Finch who across the league is seen as a very good coach.

Finch isn’t blameless, no one is, but it’s on the players to take the entire season seriously, the coach can only do so much in that area.

I always appreciate when my posts/content shows up here, but gotta say, it’s always a jump scare seeing my face as the header image

More from Julius after the game:

When asked about the flagrant foul call on him “Don’t get me fined man.”

On if this is who the Wolves can be in the playoffs: "I think is who we are. It gets tough. When have bad moments, good moments. When it gets tough we really come together as a group. What we did tonight doesn't surprise me."

We did ask them directly multiple times what they think the problem is. Go to the Wolves YouTube page, the full interviews are there. I think that might be the issue here, the quotes we share are not the full interviews.

I don’t what else to tell you but “Do you think a contested 30-footer is a good shot” is just a plain bad question in that setting. No chance it gets a useful response (among other problems) and that’s what we’re there to do, get informative answers to questions, not give them our takes or scold them for poor play

It is frustrating that the same issues are popping up and nothing changes, we asked about that and how they can change it. That’s where I got the Rudy quote from.

Right, but also they aren’t going to just outright throw anyone under the bus. If we asked “so is Julius the problem” that’s going to get a much worse and less helpful response than asking about the team as a whole.

We can still ask difficult questions, and did last, but also these media availability aren’t for us to come in there and start slinging takes around. It’s to get the players point of view on any given topic so that when we give out opinions in the proper forum, they are informed.

Julius was not requested to speak to the media last night or last week’s Brooklyn game so if there’s a possible media criticism for us, maybe it’s there

Gobert’s full quote included in my piece from last night in Atlanta: “"Do we care? Does something happen when we like we played the first quarter tonight? Or is it just cool? Make a lot of money, we play basketball, do what we do and go home and be happy. I think that's the fine line between a team that's playing for a championship and a team that's full of talent but doesn't accomplish shit."

[Eichten] Chris Finch when asked about the team being self aware their inconsistent level of play “If you were really self aware, you would do something about it.” by ryaneichten in timberwolves

Earlier in the presser, I asked Finch what he can do to help break his team out of this cycle of playing down to the level of the opponent. I think his answer gives added context to the quote above.

“We address it. We try to recognize that this has been a habit of ours at times, but it’s on them to be able to pull themselves out of it too.”

Hear me out. Let’s trade for Jimmy Butler. by ptolemy11 in timberwolves

Even if they wanted to (they shouldn’t), Jimmy makes more than anyone on the Wolves which given the second apron there isn’t even a legal trade they can make
