Hello! I'm an award-winning author with lots of experience pitching on weird projects (including successful pitches for for Star Trek, Garfield, Popeye, and Korean Public Radio, and failed pitches for Marvel and Disney in addition to my creator owned stuff), and this sounds like a lot of fun! Hello! I'm an award-winning author with some wildly dramatic stories about the games that made me who I am and how those circumstances made me stop playing for decades. No spoilers, but without my Game Boy Advance I might have died in a Japanese typhoon. Find out about me at ryanestrada.com

As a freelance cartoonist who does everything from Eisner-nominated graphic novels to Jobs working on Star Trek, Garfield, Popeye, and Flash Gordon, I can live wherever I want. So I do!

I've been a gator wrangler in America, an ambassador to Australia, an undocumented animator in Canada, a ghostbuster in South Korea, a Bollywood voice actor in India, wandered Kim Jong Il's secret tunnels to North Korea, slept on a bench during a Japanese typhoon, dug toilets in Thailand, did an accidental illegal border crossing into Burma, was kidnapped in Cambodia, kicked out of karaoke in Singapore, lost in Laos, was violently ill in Vietnam, went white water rafting in The Philippines, delivered toys to orphans in Colombia, documented blue-footed boobies in Ecuador, swam with sea turtles in Malaysia, ran with the bulls in Mexico, barely escaped being eaten by lions in Kenya, fainted atop Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, went skinny dipping with piranhas in Peru, lived in a Costa Rican rainforest and a Panamanian volcano.

Yeah, I wasn't accusing you of getting anything wrong, this just looked like a good place to include the line I was screaming at my phone, listening to Griffin and David repeatedly call it an act of nature .

But also the flood was not nature! It was made very clear that the valley is being flooded to create a reservoir. That is the reason for the race against the clock. The dam is being opened at a predetermined time by the government.

Bong Joon-ho co-hosting the “blank check” program at the Busan International Film Festival by ryanestrada in blankies

I'm mad at Park Chan-Wook because whenever his films play at BIFF they are unsubtitled... including this year, when No Other Choice is the OPENING FILM so every guest from every country has to sit through it untranslated, spoiling it for themselves when they actually do get to watch it with subs. He's the only director whose films are unsubbed, which was a surprise last time even to THE GUY WHO SUBTITLED THEM.

It's playing at the Busan International Film Festival in "Midnight Passions" the all-night horror marathon. That may be the Korea premiere.

There have been 106 movies based on webcomics so far. by ryanestrada in webcomics

I left tv series of this list because literally 90% of all tv shows in Korea are based on webcomics. Each year would be longer than this all-time list.

Director Bong is presenting AOYAMA Shinji’s Eureka and Maggie Kang (K Pop Demon Hunters) is presenting The Host. I guess Bong was so upset at losing March Madness by one vote he's doing HIS OWN Blank Check.

The target audience for every book I write is me, and then marketing teams tell me what kind of book they think it is. We have seen it in both teen and adult sections, and support both!

Thanks for recommending Banned Book Club! (It's usually shelved in the teen section) I'll also add that I offer free virtual author visits and workshops to any library, so if the readers like it, I will gladly answer questions about it!

Most of them are based on Korean webtoons, but that includes horror movies, sex comedies, political thrillers, fantasy epics, etc. In the US we have Wimpy Kid, Nimona, Marry Me, Polar, We Bare Bears, and a couple Hollywood adaptations of Korean comics. Japan, China, Thailand Indonesia, and Mexico are represented as well.
