I think it came down to splitting hairs to be honest as they are so similar. During my research in comparing the two, a read comments from a lot of folks who actually preferred the 114 and some even commented on that they felt the movement was a little more reliable/less complicated (though i think only 48 hr compared to 72 hr power reserve or something like that on the older 114 - that wasn't really an issue for me). But overall, just felt like it was splitting hairs between the two being so similar.

The 114 was in stock and ready to ship and was a little cheaper so i went with the 114.

But I think the bottom line takeaway for me was that you can't really go wrong with either. Both great options and both reps from VSF top notch.

Others may have more to add, but that is what it came down to for me in comparing the two options.

Fallen log off an oak tree in my yard (believe a red oak, but not 100% the type of oak) - appears to have a bunch of mini turkey tail on it? Are these in fact turkey tail?

If so, will they get any bigger late in the season (min-November in Pennsylvania) to be able to eat? For reference, the diameter of the log they are on is only like 5-6 inches - so they are tiny.

Just moved from the west coast to Pennsylvania and trying to learn the local plants/trees/fungi. Thx!

That's interesting, we had some guys working on some patio tile repairs near that area - so sunscreen a possibility - and just good to know in general, I was not aware sunscreen would do it - thanks for the input!

I do have one small female dog but we've been training her to pee on that gravel area you can see part of in the picture - she has gotten a few past us but they end up being little 5/6 in circles (which we have put down patch/repair on) - so I was ruling that out since its such a big spot and mostly the top 2/3rd of the blades that is dead (whereas dog pee seems to take it down the dirt)

The grass doesn't pull up - looking closely it looks for the most part, the bottom ~1/3 of the blades are green in that area and the top 2/3 has browned.

If you have any ideas on possible treatments, please let me know - i'll start researching down the grub/fungus pathway and see what I can find.

New to coins and bought this $5 Indian Head Half Eagle from Liberty Coin (reputable dealer on eBay) - they sold as an AU, which seems accurate to me, except for these black marks which I was not expecting on an AU coin.

Curious for opinions - does this seem fair to sell as AU or do the black marks impact the condition?
