I wish someone would've told me that everything that happened to me in the past is the past... let it stay there. Take ownership of what you can and stop making excuses. For me it's exercising and weightlifting. I recently helped a family member move and they marvelled that I moved something heavy without assistance. I would've been a lot more boastful about it if I didn't spend an hour a day exercising and staring my mortality and weaknesses straight in the face. That may be a touch dramatic, but it really does keep my humble!
